Japan's views on the characters populairty (NOT GAMEPLAY)

It isn't reliable. But not everyone speaks Japanese and I'm too lazy tired to do it myself. I have never heard of Linguee before but if it's more accurate use that instead! I posted the link in original Japanese as well at the start of my post, so I guess you could copy-paste it that way.

Japan's views on the characters populairty (NOT GAMEPLAY)

I don't believe it. Not only have I found a Japanese combo site, but it also doubles as a Skullgirls fourm! It has gameplay strategies for each character (even Baewulf)! I need to look into it more though to see to what extent it goes analysis-wise. Also good ol' Poccola_margherita0141 on...

Japan's views on the characters populairty (NOT GAMEPLAY)

I suddenly just realized why Fukua is called Blowfish-Chan! Fukua's name is spelt 'フクア', and blowfish is spelt 'フグ'. The first two kana are near identical as blowfish (Fugu) is used in Fukua! My mind just imploded right now.

Japan's views on the characters populairty (NOT GAMEPLAY)

The title change is appreciated. But I'm slowly coming to the realization that I might have unintentionally spawned an all-out weeaboo waifu appreciation thread. What have I created?!

Japan's views on the characters populairty (NOT GAMEPLAY)

I'm pretty sure Filia being chubby isn't a moot point in Japan. In fact I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons to why she's popular! You have to remember that even though in the poll she seems low, there is literally 1 vote difference between her and Painwheel, and is only 28 votes away from...

Japan's views on the characters populairty (NOT GAMEPLAY)

You misunderstand the great online waifu war of Lolis vs. Boobs. It's basically saying that the two young (loli) characters won (Marie and Peacock) while the big-boobed characters (Parasoul and Cerebella) came unexpectantly last; excluding Valentine who came third and as she has the biggest...

Japan's views on the characters populairty (NOT GAMEPLAY)

A link to the poll results are here and it counted 1,155 votes total. btw if you want a link to some of the posts I made on the Beowulf Story fourm about this here they are:Note that I am still learning Japanese though and I don't live in Japan so I might have made some mistakes. If you know...

Japan's views on the characters populairty (NOT GAMEPLAY)

-D.Violet had a lewd discussion on the Steam community after Beowulf's story released - the second most popular topic before Apron-chan gender-confusion. -B. Dahlia was estimated to be a western favorite and they know that she is needed for the 'canon' story. One of the reasons why some people...

majorgalaxy and Magma442 be like: But I agree with BallotBoxer that this topic should go in its own thread if it carries on.

Beowulf SPOILERS - Beowulf Story Mode and Other Lore

B-but writing long posts makes me feel smart...! You are right that Peacock has got that kawaii factor though. Nothing they say about Cerebella (or any other character) is mean; in fact they often say she has '魅力的なセクシーボディ' (An attractive sexy body) and fans like to call her '女神!' (Goddess!)...

Beowulf SPOILERS - Beowulf Story Mode and Other Lore

I think I missed the point on what you meant with Cerebella being 'American' originally. The context it's used in is that her design, personality and story appeal to a western audience unlike Peacock, who might have been based on American cartoons but still has tropes that are popular in Anime...

Beowulf SPOILERS - Beowulf Story Mode and Other Lore

I think it's her personality and uniqueness in design/animation. They love Disney and generally the concept of American culture as well so that probably helps. Of course her relationship with Marie is a massive factor, and that side of things isn't explored as much in Cerebella's story with Feng...

Beowulf SPOILERS - Beowulf Story Mode and Other Lore

The context it was used in was that your voice as Beowulf was made a possibility because of the voice reel you uploaded onto Youtube. Because it was ultimately chosen it said that you must have been the perfect person for the role, and they added their own thing to it saying they totally agreed...

Beowulf SPOILERS - Beowulf Story Mode and Other Lore

Again I return from the depths of the Japanese internet to find out more about the typical Japanese views on characters, so first of all some more nicknames: Spoiler tag for my needlessly long post: Btw, if you want to have a go at looking at some Japanese sites yourself unfortunately I don’t...

Beowulf SPOILERS - Beowulf Story Mode and Other Lore

On the Japanese wiki they have got translations and meanings to Beowulf's quotes and they think the 'Step aboard the AROOO train!' line is a reference to Futurama. XD Pun-barrier! I tried to find out some more nicknames with by basic-peasant Japaese skills, but couldn't really find that much...

Beowulf SPOILERS - Beowulf Story Mode and Other Lore

The Pig-Chan thing is explained here and it originates from the fact that Filia weights the heaviest out of several other heavy females across different fighting games. The funniest thing about that site though is that is says that Filia is representing 'a national character of America'...

Beowulf SPOILERS - Beowulf Story Mode and Other Lore

I just went to the Japanese Steam community to see what some Japanese players thought of Beowulf's story and a popular discussion is about them coming to the realization that "Apron-chan" (Leduc) is not a girl. I dunno, I just thought 'Apron-chan' was pretty amusing. Reminds me of the...
