I think a rocket launcher isn't the best way to describe it, seeing as a rocket launcher has a range far greater and causes an explosion. I think a more suitable analogy would be.... a paint roller.

The Smash Bros Edition Gamecube controller is identical to every other GCN controller aside from a super smash bros symbol on the front. The internal components and wiring is the same so, yes, it works with the PC and GCN adaptors that you mentioned. I ripped those things apart to check too...
