Well you do have to activate it within 7-9 seconds of starting the match in a lobby, but yes, it's not a separate mode.

I do have to agree that reviving it right now wouldn't work. Besides, with that update in the works, the community will show back up when it appears. I know for sure it's what I'm waiting for at the least.
