Because when you have EXP share on, you're constantly 10 levels higher than your opponents just from trainer battles. I got overleveled to the point that I could outspeed and OHKO any pokemon my opponents sent out with any pokemon on my team without grinding at all. That ain't fun.

I don't know about that. They seem to be under a mindset where the default sets should be well balanced while the custom sets are anything goes. That coupled with the fact that people actually LIKE wave-slashing as an AT, I think it's safe for now.
