I wouldn't quite say that! Persona 3 is very dark but in comparison to the main titles, it quite lighter in comparison and the ending is, although bittersweet, much happier than SMTI/II and Nocturne. And with the revelations in P4A, there's still a chance of the cast earning a full blown happy...
