This is pretty problematic in gameplay terms though when combos are specific to characters, and again, it's especially a problem when this is a thing in ranked. There is no actual reason to not just keep hitboxes of the character you're actually playing, at least in ranked.

They had them for DMC 4 and that was perfectly fine. And hell, Bayo has a tradition of needing to grind like crazy for shit and that's been fine with everyone. Also the weapon gives you double orbs when you use it but orbs are the ammo, I fail to see how that's abuse. Though I do find it stupid.
