considering Asuka and yumi are both protagonists for the franchise, them being picked does make sense, and theres a ton of Senran kagura weapon variety such, for example, no single character that has a gun uses it in a similar way to any other character with a gun. and I dunno man, I don't see...

I mean, Asuka and Yumi are good characters in their own right. if they wanted a really good heavy hitter, they'd aim for Homura because it's Homura. there's obvious ones like Daidouji, but I'd love more obscure picks too. like I said, not much to slander when you got rwby on your roster.
