Usually leaving the stream running causes an obscene amount of lag. I think it's best to check the archives after, or just ask about advice in stream chat post-match before the next set starts.

It's pretty tricky to execute, yes. Sometimes if you have a green vial loaded you can throw a vial instead of j.hk and the hitstun will let you run up and finish the combo with plenty of leniency.
