Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is a new crossover 2D fighting game developed by Sega featuring popular characters from the Dengeki Bunko light novel publishing labels and characters from Sega titles.

The game uses an eight-directional joystick and four button input. A is your weak attack, B your middle attack, and C your strong attack. S brings out your support character. You’ll be able to move, dash, back-dash, and double jump.

Other game elements include:

- Impact Skills: A+B, or down+A+B for a special attack.

- Trump Card: By pressing B+C at the same time, you’ll use one Dengeki mark to send out a powerful attack.

- Blast: By pressing A+B+C at the same time, you’ll use the Blast Icon to invoke a variety of effects.

- Extend Action: Pull out regular attacks and certain kill skills. By holding the button, you can change your skills.

- Potential: Specific skills each characters possess.

- Climax Gauge: A gauge for super special moves.

- EX Special Moves: By committing certain kill skills with the S button for a stronger move, your Climax Gauge will decrease by one.

- Climax Arts: Consume two bars of the Climax Gauge for a super special move.

- Reflection Guard: By pressing any button while guarding, your Climax Gauge will decrease slightly and your opponent will be forced back.

- Quick Combination: Mash A to let out an automatic combo.

Since Sega is helping with this game. I noticed that this stage has, what looks to be, the tanks from the Valkyria Chronicle series. I hope this hints at Selvaria being playable. Sakura Wars also has a chance since Dengeki did a novel on them.​

I really like the UNiB look of the game and the support system seems similar to Shin Koihime Musou (build meter for the assist) from the look of the teaser (unless that was her super).

Also you may want to put that this is a cross over with Sega as well, since it was confirmed to have Sega characters.
 
I looked up what series they had worked on to see what characters could be in this, and... Wikipedia has them listed as publishing the first Disgaea game? And Persona 1/2? What?
I'm sure looking forward to playing as Laharl.
 
Game reminds me of AquaPazza in more ways then one.

Atlus published the first disgaea and created persona 1/2. I doubt they will be in this

It was a joke, although wikipedia really does list them under Dengeki Bunko works.
Also, 99% sure that NIS published Disgaea.
 
I am actually disappointed that Toma from Index is an assist rather than a main character. I wanted him to be playabe as S-CRY-ed is under their Light Novel banner so I could have Toma vs. Kazuma.

That's that Dengeki Bunko is: Light Novels so that's who published the written books, bot the games or Manga.

Also Atlus published the first Disgaea game in North America before NISAmerica existed.

Is sega going to have a lot of characters, or a cameo or two? And if it is, is it gonna be full-on sega or only their characters that would fit in with the dengeki bunko characters?
Actually, screw answering these questions, I want Ulala regardless of the answer.
I'm 1000x more excited about this game now that the Sega bit has been added, since the only dengeki bunko series I care about are Durarara and Baccano.

Yes, since one of the stages has the tanks from Valkyria Chronicles. It'll probably be chosen series.

Shana looks pretty fun in action there.

I gotta say, I really don't like how more fighting games are going for AAAAA combos, since it prevents you from doing consecutive weak attacks, which are pretty useful (though autocomboes usually don't apply while you're crouching, so you can still use those jabs). At least make the beat be ABCCC.

I hope Sega's involvement leads to Skies of Arcadia characters being in - I was super stoked when I got to play as Vyse in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

This doesn't even look too good but I'm a weeaboo so I'll probably play it anyway

By the way, is this gonna be console only or will it be on PC?

I really really really doubt PC. There might not even be an NA release, let alone pc.
 
Well I don't mind if it doesn't get an English release since there's a good chance the menus will be in English or at least someone will write a guide on how to play it. But if it's not on PC the no hype for me.
 
Oh well seeing Shizuo pretty much confirmed main.


Unless of course they add Shiba Tatsuya as playable from Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei which convenient timing had an anime adaption announced.

Shizuo's super move better involve him throwing a vending machine at the opponent.

Also, am I the only one who thinks the sound effects in this game sound similar to the ones in 'Under Night In-Birth'?

s-cry-ed was an anime first not a light novel to figure out who is playable you must look at who was published by and created for dengeki bunko as the company has done licensed work like persona and s-cry-ed

Anyone from Phantasy Star, even a generic HUmar, would make it an instant buy for me.

Except Liza, she sucks.
