Steam - Windows game exit unexpectedly

first I got to say it's hell of a game!
The graphic and music kills me! They are so gooooooood!
But when I played, I encountered below problem.

I downloaded the game from steam a while ago and started playing it yesterday.
I chose parasoul and after I fought the other parasoul, it exited unexpectedly.
I tried for another 3 times and each time the game exited after i fought the other parasoul character.

So I decided to change my character and chose cerebella, and the same thing happened after I fought the third enemy.

I wonder if my playing environment has something to do with it.
I 'm playing the game on windows platform(win 7).

PS:
I seemed to have found the pattern. Whenever I fought parasoul, the game exits.
Hope this will help to find the reason to the problem!

by local files you mean which file?

right click game, go to properties, local files, and then verify integrity of game cache, did you try that?

Oh! Thank you! After I did what you told, steam found 2 files missing!
Guess after updating those files it'll be OK!
