Ms. Fortune Filia Double
- Peacock c.HP has 17f blockstun, c.HK has 17f startup
- Peacock does a c.HP-c.HK chain on a blocking opponent (1f gap)
- Fukua does BFF (Super with invincible startup) after the c.HP

Easy enough, right?

What is going on here?

- Not seen (It works, I just cut it out of the viddy): It works as intended (Reversal BFF comes out, Peacock gets hit)
- First two tries: It works as intended (I mistime the BFF - Peacock hits me, because I'm not holding downback as the c.HK connects)
- 3rd try: What?

If I press the buttons too early (before the Reversal window): Nothing comes out, I just get hit
If I press the buttons too late (after the c.HK connects): Nothing comes out, I just get hit
But how do I get COUNTERHIT? What exactly is Peacock hitting me out of there?

- This is not "Karaing a special into the super" (which would possibly give me 1f of vuln startup) - as you can see on the input display, I input K+K
- This is not a BFF-only issue, it happens with other reversals (I tested with Valentine Lvl5; I figure it happens with every single one, but no guarantees - maybe just supers? Dunno)
- This is not an input display issue (in that I'm actually karaing the input and it's just lying to me), as it also happens with a Macro

@Mike_Z

E: It's not something like "You pressed the buttons too late after the motion" either, as it happened with Val Lvl5 (if you press the buttons too late after the motion there, you just get a Tag / Nothing if Solo - neither of which one can get CHd out of)

I haven't had any success reproducing this. I have managed to successfully do reversal BFF and Reversal Val Level 5 in that gap though.

I've also recorded the dummy to do reversal BFF against me and it will always beat cr.HP > cr.HK

Same, can't repro the CH. Tried for 15 min with dev tools including frame-by-frame.

The only CH I got was purposefully not hitting both buttons.

You could record at 60 and upload it slowed down or just screen capture the frame before you get hit, ya know...

What a good idea!!

As you can see, I'm getting a Shadow. For like, no reason.

Here I'm retesting Valentine Lvl5 with MP+MK *MACRO*:

Dunno if you can pull anything out of this, I figure the only thing it *CAN* even be would be vial startup, but it looks just like her stand idle to me
E: I figure the skin getting lighter 1f later is just due to the hitspark effect, but I might as well:

Just to prove it, here is a few* frames later:

*few because I recorded on 10% speed, should be 1f ingame

I now also tested Gregor, same thing happens (sometimes works, sometimes gets CHd out of).

P.S. Timing the Reversal correctly feels *WAY* harder than it should be with the 4f window or whatever you said SG had, dunno if that plays a role

I've also seen counter hits while testing meaty setups. I assumed there were just some vulnerable frames on those moves and the counterhit was because I was pressing buttons.

A sorta possible idea I had for what is going on was the following:

I screw the timing for the Reversal up really badly; so instead of starting the super via Button Presses, I get it via Negative Edge.
Then I let go of the buttons 1f apart, so I get a negative edge Shadow during the first frame. Sounds possible, yeah?

Except this:

is the first frame on which I press the buttons, and it's 1f before blockstun runs out.
I don't think I can actually let go of the buttons within 1f of pressing them.. and I don't, according to the Stick Display.

Now, maybe the Input display isn't frame accurate and the stick display is delayed enough to show me as pressing button's when I'm not, but even then it would not explain the Valentine Lvl5 - where I'm using Buttonmacro.
