Monster Hunter

So monster hunter generations is out tomorrow. Anybody here going to be playing it? This time around id like to have a group of people who i can play with regularly. People who at least know how to not die and wont quit a mission after fighting for 20 mins.

Ive got about 600 hours total over monster hunter 3 and 4 so id like to think im pretty well experienced with how the game works.

Tomorrow it's on again. Hopped back on 4U after taking a long hiatus in preparation for Generations. Won't be able to play till late tho b/c of work tho. :/
 
I would get Generations, but I don't want another months length grind-fest to worry about, where I'm in a 6+ hour roulette of getting screwed in the ass by some of the most awful players imaginable. None of that while my last year of high school is coming up.

I wouldnt bother with 4u tbh, esp if you are going to play online. The online playerbase is going to be incredibly sparse for that game to find people of similar level to help on quests.

Everyone here who is planning on playing should join a skype group or something so we can chat and play at the same time. Im unfamiliar with the ki ds of programs people typically use to do this so any suggestions would be nice.

This way we can hopefully eliminate a lot of the frustration of playing with people who dont know how to dodge/heal/etc.

MH4U got incredibly frustrating to play online for those reasons for me.

Im planning on going hard on the hunting horn this time. I had a lot of fun using it in mh4u and it only seems to have gotten better in this game. Will also go heavy on sns and evade lancing.
 
Also Generation combines every other game in the series.
 
I can see 4U being dead for a while after MHG comes out because everyone will be grinding on that. I think some players will go back to 4U eventually due to there being more end-game things to do like guild quests.

so, I got Generations a while ago, and I'm really enjoying myself.

for a casual who never really got too deep into the games, it's an uphill battle that really is giving me the business in terms of learning the mechanics of the game. still tons of fun.
 
So, what armor is best for someone who uses a Long Sword almost exclusively, like me?

I've been using Jaggi armor so far, and that's been okay, but what should be my next step?

I'm about to fight the Gobul. I'm playing Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate.

Today is the day! Who all is getting monster hunter world? I played a lot of the betas and have to say i was very impressed! Picking up the collectors edition on the way home from work.

For anyone who played the betas, what were your impressions?
 
So what's the general consensus? I was gonna get it, but due to no preorder incentives other than savings, I opted to get FighterZ
And also because I have Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and 4 to play first...

Game is pretty great.

I like how they start you off with newer stuff and you have to work your way to the older, more classic monsters.
 
I'm playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate since I got that as a gift from a guy I used to talk to a while ago, how long is the offline player content 'cuz I imagine I'm not gonna get to do the Multiplayer (checked the servers, only 50 people were playing when I checked, and chances were they were doing G rank stuff.)

All of the game can be offline content.

Already decided I'll shelf MH3U for now.
Don't really like the water controls, the water aesthetic (Cha-Cha's no Felyne), the Online is fucking barren, and I'd rather be doing verticle movement or boss mounting.
I'll come back to it later and get right back to MH4U
