Music changes during K.O. sequence

A question I have is that: when I K.O. an opponent and their ally (who is tag teaming), and I also attack their ally during the K.O. sequence, the music briefly changes to the game's main theme and then back to normal. What does this mean? Is it intentional?
 
Yeah, it's the "Poccola Effect" (so called since a player called Poccola used to do the effect in their gameplay video - the devs like it so much that they added it officially to the game). Happens when you are comboing the opponent's assist character, and the game allows you to perform an infinite combo on the assist character.
