The latest installation in the Skullgirls series is almost upon us! Preorders have opened for Skullgirls 2nd Encore on PS4!

As explained in a blogpost by Lab Zero CEO Peter Bartholow, Skullgirls 2nd Encore is the ultimate edition of Skullgirls. Included in 2nd Encore are:​
  • Crossbuy support (Buy once for PS4/Vita, get it on both!)
  • All previous DLC characters (Squigly, Big Band, Fukua, Eliza, Beowulf, Robo-Fortune)
  • Fully voiced story modes
  • New Challenge and Trial modes
  • PS3/Vita/PS4 online crossplay
  • PS3 fightstick support
  • A full platinum trophy set, including new achievements
Additionally, fans who preorder will receive a preorder-exclusive Skullgirls PS4 theme with custom art and a new instrumental version of "In a Moment's Time".



Skullgirls 2nd Encore is available to preorder on the Playstation Store for $24.99, or $19.99 for Playstation Plus members. For more info, please read the full announcement here!

Pre-ordered. Very excited for the new features, and the handheld version will be nice to have.
 
Man, that ps4 theme is boss. Definitely would buy if I owned a ps4

Great. Before I preorder though, has it been confirmed if a physical version will be released (I remember hearing about a potential limited physical run)? And if so, will that also be cross-buy and come with the theme? Thanks, can't wait for 2nd Encore.
 
Physical hasn't been confirmed and has any physical game been cross-buy before? I don't think that is a thing.
 
PS all stars was, if you bought the physical copy new it came with a code for the vita version.

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale and Sly 4 were cross-buy, to my knowledge.
 
My mistake. In any case, physical hasn't been confirmed yet so best case scenario it's not releasing at the same time.
 
Hopefully by the time I get my PS4, I am not too late to pre-order and get the theme.

You could just pre-order on the site if you wanted to make sure you get the theme.

Wish I could but I don't have the cash for now. Just as long as I have the game, theme or no theme, I am good.

Since Second Encore is now up for pre-order will the full soundtrack be releasing soon? I imagine all the music is done at this point.
 
Let me take a moment, however, to say how fucking awesome that thread banner is

Doesn´t have PS4 yet, but im gonna preorder 2ndEncore because that oustanding theme!

EDIT: @Flotilla you should add "click here to preorder now!" in the OP Header, would be useful, tought.

Wait, it says lobbies are coming to PS4, Vita and PS3, but didn't say anything on 360

Will the 360 people not get lobbies?

Ugh, tired of people assuming that the omission of info is an indication that it's not happening. Yes, 360 will get lobbies too. The post is about Sony consoles.

Yeah, we'll be updating it once things settle down a little bit.

If I have a friend on the ps3 and I'm on a ps4 and I want to play with him/her, what is the most efficient way to do so?

Would I create some kind of hidden lobby and give him/her access? (not sure if that's even possible)
 
I mean i wasn't ASSUMING 360 wouldn't get lobbies, i just know how bad it's been for 360 players because MS and I wanted to look out for them, that's all ;_;

Still, it's better to ask than to not ask

Maybe obvious/ dumb questions, but a didn´t saw someone asking for it (?)

whens the preorder period ends, before July 31 ?

If a don´t own a PS4, if a preorder the game via PSN web, it´s the same, gonna get the preoder bonus dynamic theme?
 
The theme appears on your account when you pre-order, so I'm going to say yes.

Create an unranked room in a region people don't usually use, like Africa*, and have them look for it. Same as PS3, except that invites don't work between PS3 and PS4. :^P

* that's basically what Africa ended up being for, heh.

Sucks that the Vita version won't launch until at least over a month past the PS4 release, but July 31st is slowly getting closer.

Lab Zero is still working with Autumn Games and Marvelous to see if it's possible for 2nd Encore content to be released on PC, that hasn't changed. Lab Zero has said that there might be an exclusivity period, but I think everyone can agree that later is better than never.

I guess I could have phrased that clearer. "I imagine if there were any updates they would have been mentioned."

And yes, I can't imagine anyone finding that disagreeable.
 
It's things like these that make me wish I had a PS4. If only it weren't 400 dollars...

Is there going to be physical copies of PS Vita/PS4 versions of the game being able to be purchased at stores?

I'll admit 2nd Encore makes me lean towards buying a PS4 over a Xbone.
 
I'm broke......................Welllllllllllllllllll maybe if I skimp on eating for the next 2 weeks I can afford it...

Preordered despite the thought of being foodless for 2 weeks :D

I don't even use our PS4, but I gotta get this pre-ordered, the theme is too legit. Might be cool playing SG on a big screen once in a while too ...
