I'm surprised this thread hasn't been made yet. So lets go!

Well, for starters there is Ultra info that we can talk about. So get hype for that. Talk about match ups, latest exhibitions, tournaments, and all that type of stuff. Even though this game gets a lot of hate it is still my main game and my favorite fighting game so let's get going!

As a topic starter: let's talk about that crazy exhibition between Daigo and Infiltration.

The capcom fighter qualifier from tgs was pretty hype.
 
SF4 is okay. I like 3rd Strike more though.
This is coming from a dude who only got into FGs this April.

I'll pick up USF4 though. Hope they give Dudley some love.

My favorite SF4 match: Marn(Dudley) vs Daigo(Ryu)
 
Wow that match was intense. Didn't know Daigo was training with Tokido, it really looks like it's making a huge difference!
 
Air has actually uploaded a TON of footage from Japan, which is probably just a rip from nico, but still. So yea just go to http://www.youtube.com/user/Airyuken and there are a good 5-6 show-matches.

Since we are all telling each other our characters, I'm a Ryu player so watching that showmatch was so satisfying. Daigo is an absolute monster.

also, Cody is the last REAL "street fighter" in the game.
 
anyone here play on PC? would be down to scrub it out at some point
 
I main Cody, Cammy, Juri, and Dudley. I haven't played in almost a year mainly cause of my schedule.
 
My characters are in my sig. I'm really thinking about picking up Hugo in Ultra because he's my favorite SF character.
 
May I ask a PC-related question?

I live in Estonia and for some reason I can't buy SSF4AE nor SFxT on Steam. I bought a retail copy of SSF4AE and created a Russian GFWL account. Since Ultra SF4 is coming out soon and GFWL will be closing, what does this mean for me? Does this mean my retail copy will become compatible with Steam or have I wasted money on this game and I would never be able to play online in the future unless I buy USF4?
 
i like me some Fighting Streets and i like the slower pace, but i was raised on stuff like Guilty Gear, so that and SG (although i dont play these games as often as i used to; SF included) are always going to be my home.

as for characters, i play Hawk, Gief, Fei, Cammy, and very rarely Fuerte

EDIT: really hyped for Elena and Hugo though
 
Well, I guess if we're sharing.

I can generally play most of the cast, but my favorites among them are Balrog, Ibuki, Dudley, Oni, Seth, Guile, and Deejay.
 
i'm pretty decent at AE.
I main Sakura. If im getting zoned out hard i switch to Akuma or Seth.

Not sure what ill do for Ultra. My favorite characters are C.Viper and Dhalsim, so if the game is as perfectly balanced as they're aiming for, Ill probably go with those.

I'm not really that hyped for Ultra. Namely because the day I found out about it I finally purchased a copy of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. Got the news of Ultra right at the register as I just finished my purchase.

You dont have to buy a new copy, It will be DLC like AE was.
 
still more 15 bucks for the game... it's like the 4th time you have to re-buy it in some form

I'm pretty mad at SFIV right now. In AE2012 I mained Ibuki, but because she is geting nerfed to high hell in Ultra I've spent some time experimenting with the rest of the cast to see which other playstyles I like. I finally settle on Makoto and then Haitani wins TGS and I start getting messages about how she's broken and I'm only playing her because of that.

I know that feel man. I used to main Cammy until I had a drop out with her for about three months. At the moment I'm running Oni and Zangief. Had a guy rage quit after the character selection screen :/

Also, someone said PC SSF4. I've also got the PS3 version waiting to be installed eventually.
 
So, is Juri getting buffed in this version? Not sure about coming back to SF4.

If that was in response to me, I'm not playing Ibuki becase I'm 99% sure her playstyle is going to become extremely boring with the Ultra changes. I enjoyed playing her because she had a strong vortex that you had to work hard to keep going against a good opponent, but that's going to dissapear.
 
SF4 was my first fighting game actually (aside from playing SF2 and MK1/2 on NES/SNES as a kid). Mained Chun-Li, but hopped to Juri when she was released (and also learned to use a stick with her).

I still play occasionally, and I'd say SSF4 is still the fighting game I know best, though these days I prefer other fighting games (Skullgirls :3 )

Funnily enough, when SFIV came out, me and my friend were scrambling to unlock Gouken.
I managed to unlock him before he did. And just told him "Hey, dude, fight me in SFIV, I wanna show you something"
I proceeded to beat his ass with Gouken
18 Year old me was a bit of a troll

Okay, I know this is a little OT, but SFxT is on sale on steam for $10 right now, if anyone wants to pick it up.

If you like singleplayer or don't mind teleporting online then you might like this port. The netcode is as bad as it can get.
 
I wonder if they will try to improve sf4 netcode at all once they move to steam for USF4 . As of right now I don't really want to play anyone online because GFWL is a giant fuckfest. Though I'm too busy to play fighting games right now anyway...
 
The Netcode is programmed into the game, not the service. I'm 99.99% sure Capcom wouldn't improve it. I hate to bring on the hate but Capcom rarely do things out of the goodness of their heart.

Improving netcode wouldn't merely be an act of charity. It can provide incentive for people to actually buy the game. Though sadly I don't hold out much hope that the netcode will be improved either. I just tried playing a friend with 2-3 bars and the input lag was hideous. At least its not marvel netcode...
 
I was thinking of buying SFxT but the netcode... anyway, Elena better be good. She's sole reason I'll be buying this game.
 
They'll claim its improved but it wont be. Thats what they all do.
 
i played this game so much up until ae 2012 where i started losing interest.

Sagat/boxer/honda

when the new one drops il probably get on the yang train
