Hello and welcome to the thread for everybody's favourite Bee-Girl hybrid, Hive! Discuss away with all your fan theories about Hive, her place in the story, her personality or speculate about her synthetic parasite, Beezle Bomb, or just break out every single pun you've been saving up. Hive may have been shot down in the vote, but that just means there's more hype for when the best insectoid girl returns! We'll just be patient for once she returns and blows our collective minds away.

Further on topic, I have this wacky/semi-creepy headcanon that Hive has a very monotone voice (but a very spunky attitude, which offers an interesting clash in expressions) and always speaks in plural-form (i.e. We are Legion) because she doesn't see herself as an individual but rather as a walking vessel for her mechanical insects. She also sees herself as a drone and a protector of the colony. Initially, that lead to very poor self-esteem issues and anti-social behavior, but the members of Lab 8 (most notably, Big Band, Illeum and Leduc) managed to curb it.

I'll admit I've always thought of her in sort of the opposite way. Like the cocky kid looking to prove herself (Hence the ''brash and irritable at times'' part in her bio) who's probably got a bit too much self-esteem, at least from the start, though the rest of Lab 8 is curbing that. I believe it's been confirmed that as Beezle Bomb is a synthetic parasite, her bees are entirely non-sentient. But it's an interesting question to which extent their modifications affect their personality when it comes to the ASG members. Big Band is obviously very interested in music nowadays, but who knows what he was like before? Maybe if his modifications changed him, Hive also changed from whatever she was before.

That also brings up another interesting discussion point. I'm really curious what Hive's origins are. Unlike Big Band, Ileum or some of the other Lab 8 members it doesn't look like she's been wounded or scarred, unless it's covered up by her suit or has been healed in some way. Perhaps she's some form of volunteer who didn't need the modifications to survive like BB/Ileum? I'd also be interested to know whether her close ties to Leduc came before or after joining Lab 8. Maybe they share some history, they're the same age after all.

Why does Hive make actual buzzing noises and talk like a bee? I thought the bee theme was only limited to her Parasite and weaponry. Is she doing it on purpose or did acquiring the Beelze Bomb come with also injecting bee DNA into her system or something like that?

It's really bothering me that she talks like that. I expected her to still talk like a normal human. Peacock and Leduc do after all.

I recently came to an odd realization. Hive exists in a world where bee-people likely exist based on characters in the background of little innsmouth and the casino stage. I dunno it just seems weird to me
