So, I have been playing Pokemon since I was nine. 3 years ago I stepped up my game and started to do it competitively. I was wondering, wether some other Pokemon players play SG aswell :)
Pretty much this.
Let's not forget Galvantula, Bisharp, Braviary, Lilligant and OH SO MUCH MORE!I agree wholeheartedly! Some of my favourite pokemon are Gen 5 (Mienshao, Krookodile, Chandelure). The reason I think I liked gen 5 as much as I did was because gen 4 sucked for me... It just didn't feel that great to me... Only thing it did for me was provide Berry-farming...
(If anyone that has any influence over Gamefreak's decisions in pokemon is seeing this, PLEASE beg to put Berries back in like they were in Gen 3 and 4... Gen 5's excuse for berry collecting is pitiful...)
Whimsicott is just happiness. And joy. And love. Whimsicott for poke-president. (after lilligant of course) And lest we forget the butt-winged Victini!AND Whimsicott. It's actually taken my official "favourite pokemon" spot from my previous favourite which was Ninetales. It's just so god damn adorable and awesome in battle... I can't get enough of it.
And I can understand that I'm the very small minority when it comes to the whole berry thing. Not a lot of people like the process of having to take care of berries. But you bring up a good point in item management for Gen 5. It is probably the greatest to date. I mean they had 4 generations to get it right for christ's sake. Especially the ability to register more than 1 item. That blew my mind. I could even register certain parts of the menu to the button. That kicked ass! They better not only include that in gen 6, but expand upon it.
I think it really is universal. Because lemme tell you, Gen 3 was my golden Pokemon age... I was old enough to know wtf was going on and learn mechanics and such, but young enough to become emotionally connected and develop nostalgia for it. Gen 3 was downright amazing. AND THEN they follow it up with a gen like gen 4? It's like going to an amusement park, riding the BEST RIDE THERE IS and then going on the newest ride that totally sucks. But the amusement park owners were like "Oh shit, we done fucked up." and made a ride that puts the other one to shame and is just as good as the other good ones, but feels 100 times more because of its comparison to the gen 4 ride.
I honestly thought no one else would call them Megalutions besides myself. :p Even before I looked at discussions about them (i.e. this one, and nothing else), I started calling them Megalutions.
True. Sorta like a reverse Digimon, where "Digi-" was placed at the beginning of a bunch of words, whereas Pokemon fans place "-lutions" at the end of words.
Or they could make 'em their own category.
