Them's Fightin' Herds

I have to say that I am excited to see this released.

This game looks like it does everything right for me. I like the animation, the color, the speed, the art style...but then i remember it's ponies...

I find your prejudice mystifying and honestly, kinda unfair...

There are like a billion people saying the same thing about Skullgirls but with "but then i remember it's nothing but girls with big boobies and thighs..." and unjustly ignore the game as well. How is this game different?

It's an opinion. Style doesn't sit right with him.

What about the 8th character?

I'm not ignoring the game. I just don't get the same reaction from these characters as I did with skullgirls...take that as you will. My starting focus for skullgirls was the animation, style, and "big boobies and thighs". Sue me. I like what I like. Gameplay came second as I wasn't into MvC style fighters at the time. Gameplay will be my starting focus for TFH. The characters are gona need to grow on me.

For the record if the MLP cast could have been used character likability wouldn't be an issue. I just need to see who i like but right now they are a bunch of fighting ponies and other animals.

Oh yeah, Almost forgot this game was still in development.

(That and "Beast's Fury?" I honestly can't remember the name,
The one with the tiger kong fu guy and Dapper shark lolz)

How's the game's development coming along, Game still getting
updates? Any playable versions of it out?

I mean the people saying that about skullgirls are just factually incorrect however tfh is literally a pony fighter.

It's not a bad thing but I don't think it's wrong for people to not be interested in it because of the ponies, especially with the fandoms history.

In the end it's their loss, just like the people misjudging sg.

They're getting ready to launch February 22nd, Mane6 has had a backer's beta out since May 2017, they're gearing up for one last beta update before launch, there was a playable build at Frosty Faustings. At Frosty, virtually everyone who got their hands on the game or stuck around to watch a few casual matches realized how legit this game is and wanted to get the game at launch.

Sweeeeeet~★
Glad the games' development came along so nicely ◠‿◠)
Really looking forward to seeing how the games changed since
I last saw it's revealed and reeeeeally early beta in early 2017 ╹‿╹)
(Game looked promising then and probably turned into something
pretty respectable and awesome about a year later haha ◠‿◠)

Sorry to break it to ya, bud, but Beast's Fury crashed and burned. Hard.

Aw crap, Really? What happened,
Things looked to be going soo well when I last checked!

Did the developer's ambition exceed his wallet?
Tech issues out the wazoo?
Or Just mismanagement?

Sorry about the questioning, It's just that the game looked soo cool and junk
I was really looking forward to it coming out so I can take a shot at it too =P

(Heck, I really hope Cerebrawl and Indivisible are doing alright ╹ ╹)
(Indivisible Especially since I still wanna see if I can get some backer merchant buuuut that boat might have already sailed since they already reached their goal which is cool for them; awesome even but sucks for me if that means they're no longer giving backer rewards = =)

Has there been any word on when I can expect the Linux port? All I've heard in the past is it won't be at launch, but no timetable for when it will be. And any time I hear that I get a little worried, been burned a few too many times in the past...

I'm excited to see this coming out soonish. I had a chance to play some matches at Frosty last month, as well as watch others play and the game feels good and the roster is solid despite it's size (I'm not a fan of the Alpaca though, forward charges are awkward in any game).

Seconding the question about a linux port though.

Slightly bad news
The game will release on Feb 22 missing story mode and achievements and will thus be early access for about a month give or take a few weeks.

Damn I really want to see Pom's story and the final boss. Oh well, I want to practice at least half the roster anyway in the meantime.

I also think this is the game that's like "yo, you should really play story mode first if you're new to fighters" with how the designer was talking about specific predator movesets.

Only Arizona's story would have been available in this version. So you wouldn't have gotten Pom's story anyway. They are doing episodic DLC one character at a time and introducing more character specific pixel lobbies (where story mode takes place) as they go.

So even when they fully implement all the gameplay changes they are rushing to include right now as we speak and get Arizona's story in the game, the game will still not really be feature complete* for a long time. Which is going to suck for people who came to the party for the characters and the lore in particular.

*I'm excluding new characters in that metric, just the content for the base game roster.

Does anyone know how much itll cost for the early access? It's not showing up on the steam store

I'm pretty sure it'll still be $15 as it is not meant tob ea long sine it has most work to it done. What I wonder about is dlc character pricing.

Another $15 for the goat

Instant buy.

SCORE!

I stand corrected and pleasantly surprised. The game is 25% off for $11.24.

I have discovered the salt mines.

Also the magic resource is really interesting, I like it.

I was mistaken. Discount is only if you have Skullgirls, though I don't expect anyone here to have much trouble with that.

how is the game? i saw it was out and was wondering if this counts as open early access or something?

i was looking up some vids and some characters had some unfinished art (like the SG DLCs when they were still being made)

I like it. The game is missing some animations along with storymode as well as achievements. Pom makes the game feel like Skullgirls.

Fortune with Catheads, the character we never knew we needed.

cuz we don't

This maybe stupid to ask (and may have been answered), but... how do you leave a lobby? I couldn't find a way whatsoever, I had to close the game just to leave. lol

Press and hold the magic button for the option to leave.

Played this for awhile tonight, and it is really fun.

I look forward to playing the game as it gets updated.

Game feels good and seems to have potential, but without a ranked system it's hard to find decent matches. I don't mind playing lower level players to help them level up but it's hard to learn for myself when "thiccbowserdaddy" doesn't know how to do anything resembling a bnb. Flipside, new blood is great so hopefully this brings people into the fgc.

I've been really enjoying it. It is the first game in a long time that makes me want to grind training mode.

I faced one guy who was stronger than me and demonstrated some Tian combo stuff, everyone else was worse.

The characters are very different and I like how it handles pressure for friendliness. Having pushblock instead of any invincible moves is a method I like way more than DBFZ's "we're gonna have Marvel-length blockstrings where you get one good mixup after assist and the defender's only options are bargain pushblock and discount alpha counter."

But I think I'm still feeling Arcana Heart more for a 1v1 fighter, and I've barely played it and want to play more already.

22X is such an awkward motion for a rekka, I'm really surprised it made it past the beta. Is there a way to give feedback?

I heard it's still the backer build. They apparently said a few days before launch that real-life issues got in the way? I don't know, Oleander still has her super-unfinished teleport animation and a bunch of other animations are missing. The tutorial isn't in yet either.

Oh yeah, PBGC does not exist in the game. You finish up any remaining blockstun if hit during pushblock.

Then I suppose I can quit getting hit trying to do it now. Thanks for the heads up.

Who's everyone liking? I've been digging Tianhuo, but I may grind out Oly instead... and god help me, Paprika is hilarious.

I just got it today, trying out Pom. Defenitly going to need to bust out the pad for this game because hitstun is almost nonexistant and everything goes faster than I can do with my keys.

Also heads up: The Normal Mode in this game is like Vanilla SG's Hard Mode.I thought I would get some practice vs an AI but I never made it past round 1 ;w;
