Unwavering Hype
Due to a large number of chatter and reactions to the recent influx of Yakuza information, I decided to make a thread for everyones favorite brawler/Tokyo simulator
For those that are unfamiliar, Yakuza is a video game series where you (usually) play as Kazuma Kiryu, a tough as nails member of the Yakuza who deals with intrigue and gang politics, usually while beating the crap out of an army of goons.
However, in sidequests, things get weird. I'm talking stuff about fighting a bunch of Yakuza in diapers, punching a pair of tigers in the face, and having a crazy dude with an eyepatch follow you around.
It's a very charming and fun game series you should give a try if you own a Playstation system.

In fact, Yakuza Kiwami, a remake of the first game, releases this Tuesday (August 29th, 2017), so nows a perfect time to start! (There's also Yakuza 0, a prequel.)

Anyway, most recently, a TON of Yakuza information was released.
Yakuza 2 will be getting a remake in the form of Yakuza 2 Kiwami
There will be a brand new Yakuza with a new protagonist called "Shin Yakuza"
As well as a Mobile (and PC ) Game called Yakuza Online
There is also Fist of the North Star by the Yakuza team, but I'm not sure if discussion of that will be pertinent to this thread

So yeah, discuss Yakuza here, be it your playthrough of Kiwami, or any of the PS3-era games, or if you just really wannt Yakuza Ishin and the other Feudal Yakuza games to come to the US

Majima is confirmed to be a playable character in Yakuza 2 Kiwami, continuing his story from Yakuza 0

I'm glad they're fleshing his character out more in the Y2 remake because if they just kept the same story, some scenes with him in the original Y2 would make no sense givin with what happened in Y0.

It's like what they did with Nishikiyama in the Y1 remake. They added more scenes to expand his character more.

All you guys better vote Yes we motherfucking want these games in the west.
And you also better buy Yakuza Kiwami on Monday to let Sega/Sony know that yeah we still dig the shit out of Yakuza.

The "Premium" Edition of Yakuza 6 is open for preorders.
Of course, it comes with a bog standard Artbook, which is good, then you get to the eccentric add-ons.
You also get:
Two Bar Glasses
Two Coasters
Two "Ice Stones" (usually used with WHISKEY)

Already had that pre-ordered when it was first announced.

Will love drinking out of those glasses.
 
I wanted to preorder for the Artbook, but I'll have to pass, I'm not a drinking person, and I feel I'd be doing them a disservice if I put anything other than Whiskey in those glasses.
 
So it turns out I got some information wrong.
There is currently NOT a Shin Yakuza, but the protagonist revealed in the video will be the new protagonist, and he will debut in Yakuza Online.

Damn, that’s a nice steelbook!

But, yeah. No surprise that Kiwami 2 is coming to the West. The devs said that Kiwami 2 got made almost SOLELY because of how well 0 and Kiwami 1 did in the West.
 
I turned off the trailer the moment it was in English, glad to find out it's only an option.
