Glass Canopy and River King Casino NPC Database

Yo I finally bothered to pay attention to this. It's not like I spent a dumbtarded amount of money on this or anything...

Mine is Glass Canopy Set 3. "Masked Girl." Her name is Raven, and my saint name is the same as here: Darlos9D.

I just posted a topic asking about this & here it is. These NPCs are really cool. Are they still taking requests, and how much do you need to contribute? I've never heard of another video game doing this. Nice job!

Not taking requests. It was a tier level at 1000 during the IndieGogo campaign. They do not plan on doing it again.

Hi Skullheart! I'm FittyYen, the creator thing of the red-white blonde lady aka Krishna from casino set five. She's pretty cool I think. If anyone's interested in her past you can pm me or I could post it somewhere here on the forums. *Slinks away*

I'll update the doc as soon as I get a chance! There were a few more NPCs added to the stages recently too, so I'll plug them in.

Out of curiosity, how much did people donate to get a character in? Thanks.

1000$. Broseidon Rex practically answered that already.

Hmm. Maybe I missed that post. Thanks for the info. I remembered hearing that different people contributed different amounts. As a member of a a small gaming company, I figured it's be interesting to know. .

Most of the tiers are still available for checking on the IGG page: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/keep-skullgirls-growing

Basically all the different levels of amounts for the NPCs got those contributors extra content like designing custom palettes, arcade sticks, etc in addition to the core $1000 NPC tier.

Okay, finally updated these with the new information and added the 4 new NPCs from a while back:

They were added to groups 1, 4 and 6.

Also, many of you are probably only finally getting to play Under Night in Birth recently, so you might be interested in looking at Casino Set 2 for a familiar face~

theres a couple of shits on Tumblr talking shit about the OCs in the ballroom about their designs and saying Lab 0 should have been more strict about the OCs that went in the game.

this is why we can't have nice things.
hey but you know what? I sorta agree
I feel some of them just don't fit (colors, artstyle, or even more fundamentally concept)
Don't get me wrong : it's not that serious but I think it's like a stain on an otherwise aesthetically perfect game

I know it may simply be a matter of taste, but I just wanted to say I think it's a little easy to call the criticism "whining"

(hey some of these NPC look really awesome too!)

Yup, there's a few NPCs I think are way out of place even in the smorgasbord of a world SG is set in. Overall though I barely even notice the NPCs on the stage at this point so it's not much of an issue.

I would love to have a character design of mine immortalized in a game like this. Too bad I couldn't have thousands of dollars of disposable to throw at things like this. I can't even finance a run to McDonald's lately. Why do rich people get to do all the cool stuff? MY LIFE SUUUUUUUUUCKS! (╯︵╰,)

(End of whiny, self-indulgent soliloquy. Please don't viciously hate on me more than necessary...)

A user on the Wiki pointed out today that Selena from the game Blood of the Werewolf appeared on the River King Casino stage. After rotating through all the sets on both the Glass Canopy and River King Casino stages it turns out she does indeed appear in Set 6, just right to Lone Wolf:

I'm pretty sure she is the only new addition. From what I can find out about the game, it has been released on PC, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and more recently the Wii U eShop by indie developers Scientifically Proven.

Edit: Just checked the other pages and noticed no one had posted the recolored ProxySScythe NPC, so here's a cropped screenshot of that as well:

Edit 2: Re-did the link to the first image as I noticed it didn't show up anymore for some reason. Yes, I edited my post 3 months after I originally posted it...

Benny, the four-armed guy in the casino Set 4, is mine! (Patron Saint name listed in the game is ionicOneirologist.)

If anyone's curious about him I will eagerly tl;dr at you all, just. Fair warning that you would be inviting quite a bit of tl;dr. Short version: He's a spider demon who runs a dimension-hopping pawn shop!

Oh wow, I never saw this. Can't believe I forgot to add Selena into the list - I animated her! I'll fix the lists later with updated images of her and Proxy.

I added in your name to the list :) Thanks for the tip!

Four-armed Shaggy Benny was one of my fav backer NPCs since the start. Go for it. After seeing him countless times during matches, I wouldn't mind reading his story.

Oh awesome, thank you! He's definitely one of my own favorite original characters, ahaha.

Here's a character blurb I already had written up:
[This is Benny, and he is a spider demon who runs a dimension hopping pawn shop. Which is situated in an enormous clocktower on a ripped up chunk of street that just kinda floats through the multiverse. It's the last remaining piece of his home dimension. Luckily for him, he has natural dimensional gate abilities.

Benny is typically cool-headed and a smooth talker. He's more or less seen it all, and it's very difficult to faze him. He's closest to true neutral, but does play favorites. If he likes you, he's a pretty damn nice guy. If you do something stupid like try to steal from him, you're absolutely boned. See, he's the sort of demon that feeds on misery and other negative emotions, but that doesn't mean he can't also feed on flesh... and he's a convincing enough talker that you might not even realize you're screwed until it suddenly dawns on you that you've been webbed into the chair for the past five minutes and it's not a pen he's going through the drawer for.

His sense of humor is dry, sometimes morbid, and often difficult to pick up on if you don't know him well. His voice is deep and somewhat gravelly, though he speaks with a smooth, almost hypnotizing cadence. He also has a habit of referring to himself in the third person every so often.

"Step right in, folks. Whatever yer lookin' for, ol' Benny's gotcha covered. Just mind you don't touch what you don't intend to buy... never know what's still lingerin' around on these things, take my word for it."

Yup, he's got a pretty strict "sell it as it was found" policy, meaning that anything he gets that's cursed, enchanted, or the prison of some powerful demon or vengeful genie is going to stay that way. He'll warn his customers... if they haven't given him reason not to. He's highly resistant to curses and dark magicks himself, and rarely encounters an object that poses a threat to him.]

There's not a lot more to his story than that at the moment - I still haven't figured out exactly what destroyed his home dimension, or how he got where he is. There's a few things to add to it, though.

-His full/true form is basically a giant green jumping spider, still wearing that bowler hat. He uses the humanoid guise to interact better with customers when he's in humanoid-dominated dimensions - it would LOOK more true human, but he never said he was very good at glamours.

-He normally wears much more casual/beat up clothes, most distinctively an old brown duster and fingerless gloves. The bowler hat stays, though. The hat ALWAYS stays. But, as you can see, he's perfectly capable of ditching hobo mode to look classy!

-His sunglasses hide it a bit, but he has four pure black, circular, spiderlike eyes in his humanoid form.

-That's an oversized bug leg he's chewing on, not a piece of grass or anything.

-He's acquaintances with a few other interdimensional shopkeeps. Apparently that's a thing.

-His stock is secured in the clocktower by webbing. Lots and lots of webbing.

-Benny came into being when I needed a one-shot black market type shopkeep NPC for a modern supernatural roleplay. And then he just never left.

-Recently, he's become involved with a friend's character - not a fellow Patron Saint or anything though - and taken said character on as a shop assistant. And by that I mean this is the guy he sends to retrieve items and make deals when things might get dangerous, because Benny's not much of a fighter and Xanatas was bored with life but has access to powerful demon weapons.
That's about all I can think of for now!

Another person added their NPC credit to the wiki:
Atrium_Group_1_1000.png sgt__brony_by_bravelyblue-d7pnrj9.jpg
Character name: --The contributor never came up with a name for his OC. He says either the name 'Matt' or 'Sgt. Brony' is fine though.--
Contributor: Matt "Sgt. Brony" (latter is Twitter handle @sgt_brony)

The character is supposed to be an anthropomorphised version of their OC pony. I'm not sure if it's because there were rules like the dress-code thing - I will have to ask him. He also said that he was the one that asked for Robo-Fortunes R-DASH 5000 palette.

EDIT: Updated Character name/Contributor details.

I guess the wings are mechanical, then. Until now I assumed they were meant to be organic.

Ayy, this is a late reply. Yeah, it looks like it. Apparently the guy has an actual sergeant rank in the military, hence the character design/name which I thought was a pretty neat background detail.

He also confirmed that it was Lab Zero's idea to make his pony OC into the anthropomorphised version in-game to avoid any copyright issues with Hasbro. Good call considering what had happened with Fighting is Magic at the time.
