Eliza SPOILERS - Eliza Story Mode Discussion

Well, there was a theory on the speculation forums that Double is the missing half of the face of the Mother.

Problem with this theory, when Double went all mama bear on Eliza, the left side of Double's face is still mangled up

That makes sense...but couldn't it be she is really just a replication of others as well? That is a part of her powers. But then another thing that confuses me is her ending with Aeon, Venus and the Great Mother. Being that Aeon can make alternate timelines or time paradoxes whatever, could it be that in that timeline it was The Great Mother before being defeated and turned into what we know as Double? It's starting to look like that to me a little.
But then Double and her interactions with the Skullheart -finding candidates, eating them etc. It doesn't maaake sensee...ughhh

I neeeed to knnnnoooowwww.

Double needs a new voice set when fighting Eliza

because that reaction was something else

Or maybe the two daughters is just Lamia's deranged acting out of her mental breakdown and that she can't fully accept Eliza took them and her kingdom from her. She really flipped out there when she saw Eliza.

And the Skullheart is part of her plan to remake her daughters at any cost.

Hey! I was happy when Fortune died, but I kept to myself cause I know other people don't hate her!

I can't say I understand the hate Cerebella got for that incident. I'm a huge Fortune fangirl and I couldn't bring myself to hate Bella for that. Hating her for that obnoxious throw heavy fight style that's a pain to work against is an entirely different animal though. ^_~

Why would you tease us, Lab0? We may never see Skullgirls 2 and yet you're playing with the lore like that.

Oh, let them tease. I'm glad they're willing to do this just to amuse us.

And if SG2 inevitably falls through, there's always erotic fanfiction.

SO. Few things I was thinking about after I played that I wanted to talk about. Also, god damn you people typed a lot of fucking pages. We may as well actually publish a book on our reactions to this character.

So I guess each Parasite has a true form? Eliza said something about transforming into a Theon. Possibly hinted at by Filia and Squigly's lvl 3, and maybe Samson on the IGG character list. I wonder what's holding each Parasite back from their true form? Eliza seemed like she had the answer, but Sekhmet didn't really seem so true form to me until the end, which only happened by surrounding herself with god knows how much blood.
So I guess they used to be parasites? I wonder what was done to them in order to change them. And I wonder if any of them are less "weapon-ified" than others, since I've noticed Vice-Versa has some actual emotions expressed at times. In his frames he winces when Cerebella uses him in certain ways, or he cringes or cries at other times. Maybe a story mode could reanimate living weapons?

Also thinking about Eliza's line to Cerebella, about how her hat was a powerhouse but the power wasn't hers. Perhaps she knew Vice-Versa? Or maybe she knows whether or not he's still sentient? She is apparently touchy about the subject of living weapons, but if someone is a master swordsman you wouldn't say that the power is their sword. I don't know.
Are the only parasites left Sekhmet, Samson, and Leviathan? Those are the only ones I think we've been shown? Unless Annie has one, I can't remember if she does, but I think everyone else just has Living Weapons. Nothing much else, just thought it was odd that there are only 3-4 of these guys around.
What the what? We clearly see them playing "Skullgirls" in that whatever place in Double's ending. Hmmm. HMMMMMMM. I think I should play Double's story again. But, my thoughts on it now are one of two things happened. Either everything we think about the games that's been shown is an alternate timeline, or Aeon, Venus, and The Great Mother had physical avatars that existed and Venus and Aeon dies leaving Double.

The Alternate Timeline, I'm thinking, is Aeon looking into a completely alternate set of events. None of them so far are of course canon, but maybe she's looking at ones that share little with the true canon? That would be fucked up.

Physical Avatars, on the other hand, would be almost like how Venus has her "body" walking around and talking, but it's only a small part of her that appears, Eliza could have killed the equivalent of those, but The Great Mother's body remained.

I don't know. Alternate timeline seems most likely, since we have characters as different as True Samson or whatever.
Is the Skullheart a parasite?
Holy S&M, Batman!
Princess Leia is all I could think of. Also, it's hilarious how they put her in the trunk.
DAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN. Kinda wanted to see Cerebella shrivel up, though. Like when Cell used to drink people.
So, what I'm trying to figure out are the circumstances for Marie not dying. I think maybe she needs Double to be busy/dead and no one to make a wish on the Skullheart? I wonder what her motivation for challenging Eliza is. Then again, she did look pretty weird at the end... maybe she's not really alive, but the Skullheart took her remains over and forced her to fight again? But then again, Eliza says they can use her as an "alarm" if the Skullheart gets activated again, so maybe Marie does rise on her own at the end? Maybe she does so after each character's ending? We don't see post credits to many characters story modes, so maybe?
She dies after the Skullgirls goes down no matter what? I guess this means that the only time she'll stick around is during Marie's story. I wonder how that'll turn out.

Eliza must have done some bad shit to make an entire kingdom get sent to the depths of hell itself (I'm still calling it that)

Also Eliza reminds me of another sick, sadistic, asshole villain...hm...

Also seeing double do the stuff she did in her cutscenes, makes me realize how lame her in game character sprites are. lol

Didn't vise versa belong to Cerebellas mother?

Didn't vise versa belong to Cerebellas mother?
Did it? I haven't heard anything about Cerebella's parents.

Living Weapons are not former Parasites.
That's not how the story mode made it sound.

Are the only parasites left Sekhmet, Samson, and Leviathan? Those are the only ones I think we've been shown? Unless Annie has one, I can't remember if she does, but I think everyone else just has Living Weapons.
Annie has a remote parasite yes, as does Taliesin. Aeon and Venus have parasites, but I guess those might no longer count.

Given how Riccardo immediately recognizes a parasite in Filia's story mode and how Alex speaks about social ostracism against parasite hosts, I guess they are semi-common, with those being just the ones that appear in the lore by name.

The story gave no indications that Living Weapons were parasites.

The indication people are talking about is the line "They turned our brethren into tools" or something along those lines.
It's not specific, and I can see where people are getting Living Weapons from, but I think it's just referring to people using parasites as weapons, or for their functionality like Squigly uses Leviathan to keep her senses, etc.

The same can be said about her nun form, since she has the power of shapeshifting. I just noticed that a lot of her character sprites and art tends to have the half-face.

Either way, I am happy that there was a confirmation that she has a really heavy conection with Lamia/Mother. More than to being a simple priest.

Yeah I agree with Box on this one.

"Human kind twist the facts of our lives into fairy tales... They call use Parasites or reduce our brethren to mere tools"

I feel like the "Fairy Tale" line could explain why Parasites are easily recognized. Kind of like X-Men Mutants, everyone knows what they are even though many have never seen one in person (knowing it was a mutant). Though they could still be semi-common I guess.

The only thing I could say against that is that Eliza says "Parasites" and "our brethren" in the same sentence almost as if they are different things, which kinda makes them sound like two different things.
I don't get why people think that Eliza killing Aeon and Venus in the distant past matters in the slightest.
Only because we seem to see them in the apparent present alive and well somewhere in Double's ending.

So I played the story for Eliza last night, and came away wanting more. I would love to see DLC or some more background info of the time Eliza, Samson, and Leviathon and the era they were talking about. I want to see why exactly they hate Eliza and fear her.

Plus, I would like to see that ending where we an control Mecha-Marie

Riiiiiiight.

About the deaths of V&A, I'd say she "killed" their mortal bodies, leaving them trapped in whatever metaphysical realm they're in and possibly did so with permanent effect, so no reincarnation shenanigans for those two. Wouldn't be surprised if that is something only a Theon could do to another Theon.

Anywho... *pulls out list from inner pocket* ...time for a ROLL-CALLED IT! :3
Filia and Squigly being the final battle.
Not wishing upon the Skullheart.
Not killing Ms Fortune.
Her story being about curbstomping everybody and not some hugs n' feels hippie crap. My faith in Oujo-sama has been rewarded.
I'M FUCKIN' OMNISCIENT! *air guitars to Red Sun*

...well, not as much as I'd like to though. I did not see that ending coming. Not one bit. Don't just mean Meridian Rim but the whole premise of Eliza going on a rampage. Clearly, her dedication to purge the world is greater than I thought. Oujo-sama! (´ε` )♡

...also, anyone found a full set of the Story mode's art assets? I just found a zip with the dialogue portraits and some frames here and there. <:3

The only point of confusion I have is HOW eliza could have consumed/killed aeon and venus. My understanding was that they both existed outside of all the different timelines and universes of the skullgirls lore. So there wouldn't be more then one aeon or more then one venus.

So how could have Eliza possibly killed them? If she just killed their avatar's, then why would mother be that pissed? That'd be no different from if double was destroyed.

So the only logical explanations are:

- We are missing information that is required for us to get the full picture
- Venus, Aeon, and Mother don't exist outside of the timelines/dimensions, and aren't gods in the literal sense
- Eliza is as much of a god as they are
- They ARE gods and DO exist outside of the timelines, but are still killable by mortals and/or time and space can exist without them
- Eliza killing them isn't canon and it has no canonical implications

My personal guess is that the long time goal of the Skullheart could be to reincarnate them, maybe it works something like the Marker in the Dead Space Series.

How are you guys ripping these?

Awww, I thought it was actually extracted and converted.

And I'm confused about the Skullheart flipping out on Eliza. Was it Double posing as the Skullheart or-

I AM CONFUSED.
I'm guessing that was Double in disguise, which explains why Marie is still alive.

Here's how you beat Marie with Eliza.

Phase 1: c.HK through everything
Phase 2: c.HK and DP whenever Marie sends a shadow
Phase 3: Let Sekmet out to murder people.

Not the hardest character to beat Marie with imo.

People already speculated that Venus and Aeon existed in an alternate reality or different plane of existence than the main skullgirls universe, based on the modern era technology in Aeon's room.

I think its likely that Eliza killed the Trinity that existed in her own universe but that doesn't stop Alternate Reality Aeon from meddling in the affairs of other realities. Maybe the whole purpose of the Skullheart is to destroy Eliza? After all, if you turn everybody in the world into an undead Skeleton there's no more blood to drink.

Also I think the Meca-Maid was just a fun Easter egg guys i dunno if it has any real implications on the story. Maybe I'll be proven wrong at a later date but its almost too silly to believe, even for Skullgirls. Almost...

Idk, she was able to pick up a building and throw it, so I'm assuming creating a giant body wouldn't be too far fetched. We know that the skullgirls are always extremely powerful, but we don't know the true extent of their strength and capabilities.

The question is: how Marie still have power even after the skullheart being destroyed? It shows clearly that she's still a skullgirl (her eyes still have the mark and her hand is only bones) so there's still Skullheart's influence over her. Maybe the trinity made another skullheart to give power to Marie to continue fighting? Maybe Aeon was able to summon another Marie from an alternate dimension? Who knows (besides Alex, of course)?

Marie has the heart of Chuck Norris! Chuck Norris literally loaned her his heart because he saw the true unmitigated awesomeness of her spirit.

That was probably Double disguised as the skullheart.

You know Horus and Albus have to clean up the Den after this is all over and done with, right?

Albus: "Boss! Ya want me to rev up the limo?"

-Eliza bursts out of the bath in a torrent of blood, flooding the den-

-As soon as the blood waves washes over, Albus is drenched in blood and staring up at the hole in the ceiling, reevaluating his life choices-

-Horus on the other hand is already on his feet and mopping the blood back into the bath-
