So there is a new DBZ Movie coming net year and it is continuing the timeline from Battle of the Gods.

Main Villain? A Ressurected & Powered up Frieza.

Huh, figured Toriyama would have come up with another new guy for the to fight like the Freed War God.

Whelp. Freeza's back. I guess that means he'll be getting a new transformation as well. I wish this went more into those other universes, but I guess bringing Freeza back and having him be stronger than everybody else so far for no reason works as well.
 
I've always been a Frieza fan, so I'm happy to see that he's gonna get a real runback this time. I know it won't end the way I'd like it to, but I'll be happy just to see him slap around some gold-haired monkeys.

It's also time for him to take Bulma to court for distributing all of those unlicensed copies of his company's Battle Armor. Capsule Corp's just a bunch of crooks!
 
Seems weird to revisit him considering he was a pushover when he was rebuilt and his entire family is basically space dust.

Personally, I like that Frieza's coming back, but I cant help but to think there's one of these other gods behind it, like he's using Frieza as his avatar or something. These soldiers from the Frieza army could be working for said god. And in the end Frieza and Goku team up to kick his butt.

A new badass form for Frieza is a must by the way, that needs to happen!

Also I would like to see Cooler and Cold again at some point, if only just for a comedy-part in hell.

I'm more perplexed how Freiza's chucklefuck henchmen somehow managed to get all the dragon balls and succeed where literally every other DBZ villain besides Garlic Jr has failed.

They probably ignored the section in "Bad Guy 101" that tells you to always lay out the plan for your enemies before you execute it. Some villains must have found out the book is a fake written by good guys.

Also, Nerd correction: Slug, Dr. Kochin, Hoi & the Pilaf Gang also got wishes granted by Shenron. If we take the original DB and GT into account there's also King Piccolo, the Pilaf Gang again and Baby. Oh and technically Beerus got a wish too, if you count him as a villain.
 
Freeza also technically gathered 7 Dragonballs.

And the new henchmen could have gotten "Dragon Radar" as an app on their scouters or something.

Well, we don't really have any information on the story yet. What we have is "Freeza! He's back! Something something. New Scouters! These guys are also named after things you put in a fridge!" I doubt after the success that was BoG they'll half ass this one.

I hope so but I feel like this is a striking while the iron is hot type of deal due to BoG's success. If they tease a proper transformation after SSJ3, I'm all in.
 
Pffff... canon... think that can stop a SSJ4? It can't, he's still the best!

I like the new direction they take though, I hope this new series does come around sometime and it isnt terrible. And by the logic of the movie, isnt Super Saiyan God the new thing after SSJ3? Would be cool if they flesh it out for the new movie. You know, it could look like this:

I like when someone brings up whether or not something is considered DBZ canon. Almost more than I like going to the dentist.

The way I view DBZ, we got two main versions of the universe, the one that ends with GT (GT universe also takes movies as canon), and the one that ends where the manga did (Known as "Toriyama's Universe", and also contains the events of DBO/Xenoverse). Both are official, but BoG/RoF(this movie) seems to be in the later universe, so no SSJ4. This would also mean we don't see Cooler. If we see Cooler I'm gonna lose my shit.

Toriyama has come out and said Battle of the Gods and anything following it coming out now is the Official Universe and that GT Is a AU.

You got a source for that? Not that I don't believe you, but Dragonball seems like a franchise that's wrapped in a lot of confusion regarding what Toriyama did or didn't say.

Also, if it's officially an AU, I wonder if maybe it'll make an appearance as one of the alternate universes Beerus mentioned? SSJ4 Broly, oh god, nevermind, forget I said anything.

pretty good.
my only gripe is that they mentioned Buu yet he wasn't actually IN the movie.
and yes, I know it's been explained why, but napping is not a good reason.
