Today on April 10th, 2015, Skullgirls turns three! "The little indie fighter that could" has come a long ways since its 2012 release; despite the setbacks Lab Zero Games experienced along the way, Skullgirls has done nothing but grow. It's always nice to put things in perspective though, so...

Since April 10th, 2012, Skullgirls:

If Skullgirls can come so far in a meager three years, I look forward to seeing where we'll be in 2018.

Happy birthday, Skullgirls! We would never forget.

Bella-4.png oh Wow. It's been THREE YEARS? Man Time has sure gone by quickly.

Three years ago I was just getting out of HighSchool and getting my hands onto this game thinking "This game is going to be awesome." I was not disappointed. Thanks L0 for making the last three years cool.

Happy Birthday Skullgirls. Thanks for getting me into fighting games and way to obsessed with 'certain' characters

But yeah like ninja said I picked up this game on a whim after Squigly came out and never regretted my purchase.

This is great! Congrats, guys! Keep on hanging in there, hopefully Lab Zero won't run into any more issues. *party noisemaker sound*

Awesome points listed, especially the first one, last three points & being the first fighter to hit Japan's arcades in a decade.
Three cheers (for three years) for quality video games! (especially indie)

Wow I didn't realize, or forgot, the team has been through so much crap.

Happy 3rd birthday Skullgirls! Sorta ironic how I uploaded several Skullgirls protos to the Wikia earlier today (consider that a birthday present of sorts).

It's also cool to see how much of an impact Skullgirls has had on the Training Modes for more recent fighters. I believe it was only VF(4) that was comparable at the time SG came out, and thankfully Reverge/Labzero were able to work around those patents to indirectly pave the way for other developers.
Heck, even button config at the select screen, and holding start to pause weren't common things before Skullgirls.

It's sad that we've gotten so many innovations with this one title, and yet today goofballs will still want to call it a game full of "stolen ideas." lol

That's a really cool and impressive list! It makes sense, but i didn't realized that the first version was 3 years ago! It's not normal that a fighter hold my interest to that point that long!

Frankly such a list should be used for sales pitch, like in the back of the game box or as bullet points to convince publishers!

The games have gone very far since it's release, so thanks for everything! 3 cheers and High-five for everyone!

Aw, "The little indie fighter that could"...makes me a tad emotional. lol I remember when the game didn't have the chars movelist. I'll always keep the days of Strugglegirls in my heart.

and the hitbox flashes random and infinites....goods 1 weeks days lol

Happy birthday, old chum. We had plenty of good times together, here's to having many more.

Happy birthday SGs! <3

The game sure has grown into something even greater than when it started out. The community, too. It's nice to see new players joining up and all the veterans still going strong. Congratulations to everyone, and thank you Lab Zero for your hard work.

Happy 3rd birthday you magnificent Warriors of Patience and Sacrifice! You beat back the odds, the naysayers and the cosmic confusiosity that brought bad luck to your door. You've done real good, real good indeed. Here's to Lab Zero! Drinks are on me*!

*=disclaimer, will not be paying for drinks, but rather getting so drunk that drinks magnetically cling to head

It might be just me, but those last three years felt like a day. Nice to see a summary of how much the game and community evolved since then.

Good lord, I can only imagine how far Skullgirls is gonna come in 5 years. (Maybe Skullgirls 2: Electric Boogaloo?) To be honest, it seems like a month ago we were celebrating it's second birthday.

Obvious we have to thank @Mike_Z, Alex, Rev, Kinucakes, Persona, all of the artists, animators, voice actors, programmers and anybody else who I forgot, thanks for making Skullgirls an experience.

That was nothing compared to the Beta thread. :^)
I know its rough dealing with all the complaining but it's really good of you to take feedback the way you do, I think it'll be worth it in the long run.

Well, it's mighty impressive that you have retouched the game so much time in such a short time! By Guilty gear standard, we should be at the fourth rerelease of the game!

By street fighter 4 standards we should be on our 28th rerelease.

God SF4 sucks
