If you guys are new to the community (or just haven't heard, yet) Eighty Sixed Inc. releases weekly fanart apparel every Monday! These items are only available for 1 week, though, and then they're gone! FOREVER!

[prebreak]Find out how you can get paid by 86'd![/prebreak]Here are the guidelines:

  1. Artwork must be created in a photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. Our team works with these softwares and we don't really wish to learn any new ones.
  2. Artwork must have high resolution - 300DPI or higher is a must. You want your art to look good on a shirt don't you?
  3. Artwork must be on a transparent background. If you're using photoshop, make the background color a different layer.
  4. We prefer RGB colors over CMYK. You can send either or, but just letting you know what our preference is.
  5. Size your artwork to print. 12.75 inches maximum width, 20 maximum height.
Artists whose artwork get chosen will receive $50 in store credit and $100 cash (Paypal or check). Winners will be announced every Monday on the Facebook page.

Email submissions to art@eightysixed.com

For any questions, email danny@eightysixed.com or art@eightysixed.com

Please use this thread to discuss everything about the Eighty Sixed t-shirt submissions! Past designs, current designs, future designs you want to see or are planning to submit. If you want feedback on your designs be sure to post them up here too.

Stuck and promoted thread since this is a pretty important announcement that could use extra exposure.

Thanks for posting this here! I had a question about above part: I remember back during Salty Cupcakes you (I believe) mentioned the potential of getting paid more should the design become popular enough. Is this still the case or is it just the store credit and $100?

I'd like the first post to be touched up a bit better if this is making the front page.

Art actually NEEDS to be 300 dpi, images that are 12 inches in 72 dpi are actually 3-4 inches in print quality. Which is pretty small.

@Maji up there has actually designed a bunch of shirts for the store, including the Skullgirls Expo and both the River King Casino and Dak'kuul Dubu shirts, and @Chrono_Tata also made the long popular Mad Salt design. There's plenty of other forum users that have made art for the store over the last year, so don't be afraid to submit stuff!

If the design is popular, you don't necessarily get paid more, but, we do hire you to work on other "secret" stuff that we are constantly working on and get paid more in that sense. Similar to Megan Boyd. Plus artists with great work get their stuff permanent instead of weekly.

EDIT: Also, WOW and thanks to all the mods that jumped on board in here to help us.

hey are we allowed to take an in game frame but alter it?

Like how would you alter it?
I was thinking about something like that one George design that went around a while ago

I dunno, I'm personally pretty iffy about it because it devalues work done by people who made stuff from scratch, but if something is done well, it's done well.

Well it was announced on the social networks, I am acting as the art director moving forward, so things will be going by me either way. Ha ha.

Yaaaaaaayyyyy~
Congrats to you. Looking forward to seeing what you're gonna accomplish.

I have submitted my design for a sticker or T-Shirt for you. Both via email and DA. Da account: ExplosionForce.

Hey thanks for your submission, though I must ask, was there a reason you choose to make the skullheart white? Also the tubes on the top of the skullheart in-game are meant to mimic the arteries and veins of a human heart.

Meh. I don't know why I made it white, maybe because I wanted it to look more like an actual skull or something. For the vain/ arteries I kinda forgot about them and put them back in during the digital process. The original had way more spikes making it look like a Demon Skull. If you want I can change the colour of the Skull Heart to reflect the in-game one.

Wait, does it need to be in 300 dpi? cause I'm going to submit a design that's at 1200 dpi.

I would like to enter some design ideas for this... um, are entrants only allowed character from the Skullgirls IP?

Probably. If it's an original character there likely won't be much interest in the design (unless your art is mind-blowing), and if it's from another game then it could cause copyright/IP issues.

So that means we can make fan characters who are in relation to an official character?

Hey a design I wanna submit mind checking it out warning parental guidance is advised NSFW?

Technically... You guys already took one in. With that Annie shirt that JUST HAPPENED to get a pink version. That's a pretty great coincidence, right there.
