did anyone else notice that, in addition to all the playable characters, there's also a big emphasis on Celica & Jubei in the Opening?

they're totally gonna be playable in the near future.

Kokonoe has a weird family.

I've been reading up on what pieces of the story were leaked/screenshots and uh.... people who think the story is convoluted enough now are gonna get a treat.

yeah. I got a 360 and while it would be nice to see a new Blazblue on the PC, i'm not expecting any other platforms getting anything any time soon.

if i wanted to, i could just message or email lab zero about any questions i have about the game. good luck to anyone outside of japan ever talking to arc.
 
Apparently, the game's broke its street date, and already there are plot spoilers abound, including the deaths of 2 characters. Not gonna say any more so we don't get mobbed by spoiler haters.

I'm not looking forward to seeing them get cut from the next game in that case.

Though if I think about it, her and Arakune might die at roughly the same time, probably putting closure on that story arc at least.

I've seen some spoilers just sorta show up so I can guess I kinda know who you're talking about.

but we also know that its way too expensive make a character in a fighting game to just toss them out. i highly doubt anyone will be leaving the select screen any time soon.

I certainly fucking hope not.
There's only one game left and I'm pretty sure they're gonna go for broke there.
And just have every character in the past game be there.
 
Even if the characters are killed off and thus removed from the future Story Modes (besides random flashbacks portraying said deceived character) they can still come back playable for Arcade/Versus/Training modes.

Look at the character Ein who stopped being relevant to the DoA series story wise (Turned back to Hayate at the end of the game.) since his debut back in DoA 2. He still appears playable in future DoA fighters outside of the story with DoA 5 Ultimate being his latest reappearance.

I doubt the developers will throw out all the blood, sweat, and tears they invested on creating a character for the sake of following the lore 100%.

Yeah I also doubt a characters would be taken out of the roster to follow the story, hell the game is already breaking lore by allowing the original Noel to be playable (though DLC). If anything, the characters would probably be playable in later games if the supposed dead characters were playable or can fight like Justice and Cliff in Guilty Gear. Still, seeing a character die in a game can still be pretty sad if you liked them, whether they were playable or just a story mode character.

Terumi gets WTFoffed by Hakumen, using something known as Time Killer. Trinity also winds up dead, though it is currently unknown if only she is dead or Platinum period is dead.

Also, Take-Mikazuchi was revealed as ASW's first Apocalypse/Galactus/Onslaught-type character. Lacks Shining Lightning Finger, though. And... Remix Heart might be canon. Mai and Taro were supposedly referenced (not by name) in a conversation between Makoto and Noel.

The characters who die are...

-Trinity dies. I think she gets her old body back, I'm not sure.
-Hakumen kills Terumi. I strongly doubt that this will stick, I'm pretty sure he still has a life link with Saya.

We also know things like the identity of Tenjou's son, Tenjou's backstory, Kagura's motivations for rebelling against the NOL, Relius's ultimate goal, and what's happened to Saya since the orphanage incident among other things. I can also say that, thanks to a certain other spoiler, playable Celica is looking more and more likely.

Oh, and the events \ characters of both XBlaze and Remix Heart have been brought up in-game.

Also, I'm posting all of the story information I can find on this GameFAQs topic.

Nu essentially went Black Beast formation with Take-Mikazuchi as Ragna, presumably in the process creating its boss mode.

i just caught some stream that had some of the english voices (only usable in fighting) and they do sound like they got the VAs back

haven't heard any of Miss Vee's characters though. I really wanna hear how Mu sounds.

If they got all the VAs back for CSEX, I don't think we have anything to worry about for the major sequels
 
They also have the english VAs for Amane (Yuri Lowenthall, cue Persona 3 Protag jokes), Bullet (Amanda Celine Miller, whose most recent roles include Sully and Cherche from Fire Emblem Awakening) and Azrael (DC Douglas, who everyone knows as Wesker)

Just waiting on Kagura.

And after seeing some footage with his voice, I'm so much more interested in playing Wesker Azrael.

I'd probably still use Hakumen though. If I had a ps3. :(
