Help Advertise Indivisible!

well tell us what you want over a pm and from there you can work things out on posting the vid.
Yeah @Kit Ballard, if it's just about informing you're subscribers, we (or I) could just make a video for you for you to share with them, that's your choice though.

I'm actually thinking of making a video, but it will be in Spanish. Sadly, I don't really have lots of recording equipment. Any suggestions?
You don't need a mic, making a trailer with text can work just as fine.

Well, what kind of equipment do you have? And what kind of video were you thinking of making?

Was thinking it could be built like an advertisement... but I don't have a script for it, and I'm terrible at writing up one x,x Was thinking "Ok, Introduce the game. Talk about it's lore a little. Examine the Explore aspect. Examine the Battle Aspect. Talk about where to fund." Be great to do like, 5 or so mins of it.

fixed =p But anyways. See above, but having it out there in general would be great.

*to the both of ya* While be nice to have it on my channel, I'd think it'd be best to just upload it outright. I may have 500 Subs, but only like, 5 of them honestly watch my videos.

Well, if you change your you can just PM me here, I think.

I was actually thinking of narrating a bit, like Cr1tikal, well, maybe not exactly like him, but yeah, I don't really have editing tools, streaming software, nothing, except an old microphone, the demo and my determination.

I'm sure that there's free software out there for all of those things, but unfortunately my recommendations would probably not be the best ones.

While Fraps/Bandicam come with Free Versions, they leave a web link watermark on the screen (it's pretty out of the way though). Also Bandicam comes with a 10min recording cap (meaning you can't record longer than 10 mins, and have to manually turn it back on). OBS comes with some nice lil tools that I tend to use off and on, and would make a great alt. type of recorder.

edit: Fired off a tweet to Randy Pitchford, aka Gearbox Ceo, Aka the big cheese behind Borderlands. I've seen him talk about other games in the past and figured I could hopefully have him get an opinion on the game.

Windows 10 actually has a built in recording software, but i can't know if it works because my notebook is crappy, has someone tried that yet?

Really? o.o Neat.. Though I'm still trying to download it myself x,x But I might be on the same boat as you with the crappy thing... And I didn't tell my Win7 Computer to update so even if that was running I wouldn't have it XD

i have a ripped version of Fraps so no water mark for me and i get HD stuff even though the files are huge my computer can handle it no problem so if you guys need anything recorded all nice and nice... welp i could render it down into a 720 mp4...

speaking of him, has anyone tried to message him?

It's worth a shot. Besides, he's still humbler than the "heavy" youtubers and I'd love to watch him play Indivisible because let's be honest, that would be awesome.

Cr1TiKaL: What's up everybody, this is Cr1TiKaL, I'm playing the Indivisible demo, some new game that needs lots of money. Let's fund this shit.

sent him a message, told him it was made by the developers or skullgrils, aka the titty fighting game

My biggest bet is still Maximillian. As i said before, he's on a "RPG vibe" as of late. Finished ff7 and is playing Chrono trigger on stream. His audience is a tad older too (Fighting game fans). The only problem is reaching him.

there IS a side plan, however: if you support an artist on patreon a get a drawing as a reward, ask him/her to dram an indivisible character. when it's ready, he'll post the picture and the link to indivisible on the site/deviantart page

Don't forget the time zones guys. If we're messaging these popular people, it could get burried by the time they wake up and scan their inboxes. So try to catch em when they are up and about

Okay, I've tried messaging Total Biscuit, BrainScratch Commentaries, and SomeCallMeJohnny on Youtube, and I've left a message on Analog Reviews' Steam page. These I found by searching "Strider" and "Guacamelee" reviews, figuring that reviewers for recent products are more likely to reach a buying market. I tried to mention specifically that the prototype doesn't take long for them to play, and relating it to previous products of theirs, hoping to help out with their business needs.

I noticed Guacamelee seems a very similar product- relatively "Indie," quirky and unique setting, Metroidy. How was it marketed, and how can we emulate it? Is anyone more familiar with Guac's publication history? (Does a little digging)- They released five days after announcing it!? Where did the funds come from? And they were able to squeeze a 2D fighting environment with palette swaps onto the Vita!? On second thought, maybe not the best example to follow, darn. Not to mention Indivisible's potentially three-times longer playtime and much, much more complex fighting system.

Super Mario Maker's really popular still. Is there any way we can use that to our advantage? Maybe recreate the prototype in Mario? On the other hand, that'll just drive demand for the not-happening Wii-U port.

Maybe let's try to break this into simpler questions: What groups of people have money and would be interested in Indivisible? Unfortunately, I kind of live under a rock and spend most of my focus on not spending money, so I am reduced to sheer speculation:
  • Fighting Game Community helped Skullgirls. Conceivably a fighting-game event/tournament/thing could be done to raise awareness; I don't know how these things work. Maybe a tournament only of people who've donated to the campaign?
  • Bronies helped Skullgirls in exchange for the Z engine. Maybe a similar synergy could be reached with Them's Fightin' Herds? A Goat-Incarnation, maybe? Their goal is significantly smaller than ours, but they're also having some trouble.
  • Zone? Already an awesome help. Can't really ask for more. Thanks!
  • Waifu Wars 2? Fan-art's been really good so far, but there's only so much that can be done with the canon material at hand. Plus, there's isn't a competitive edge between characters- they're all or nothing. The "Auction for a 10K Incarnation Tier" idea's pretty good, I think.
  • Speedrunning community? I'm not familiar with it, so I'm just throwing it out there. One minor problem off the top of my head: I Wanna Be the Guy was free. On the other hand, Awesome Games Done Quickly raises money (for charity), so maybe something similar can be thrown together. Wait, how does AGDQ raise money, anyway? What's the setup? It's something I've only heard about, and not actually taken part in.
  • JRPG fans? I seem to recall something about Mike Z regularly doing Chrono Trigger playthroughs on stream, maybe that could help? Plus, I've seen a lot of Final Fantasy fans pine for a return to ATB-ish systems.
  • Anime? Cartoon fans? My post on /r/theLastAirbender seemed to get some good attention, so I think that might be a good avenue of attack. Any other forums besides Reddit?
  • Youtube reviewers? Current points of interest. Unfortunately, building an audience relies on essentially being news, and "indie metroidvania" isn't really news anymore, even though this one actually is.
We can do this! Don't give up hope! It just so happens that marketing is kind of really hard. Anyone can have a brilliant idea at any moment. I've thrown what I can out there. Hopefully somebody clever can take it and run.

Already planned, along with a "Fan" drawing some where in the level. I just gotta get off my duff and start the proto back up and do it.

edit: Though the problem is there's not much room to work with. i was thinking of doing Temple 1 -> Warp Pipe -> Temple 2 -> Warp Pipe -> Goal..

What if T-shirts? Get someplace that'll print them cheap with like "Help Fund Indivisible!" or somethin'

Ya know, didn't the last campaign have some kind of "Part of sales went to funding"? If anything, that'd be an interesting idea. Get on da phone with EightySixed

I'll be attempting to make a guitar cover of the battle theme "Girl of Destiny", my sister will probably help out aswell with some humming or sumthn.
So I hope that will get, like, one person interested at least.

sent him a message, told him it was made by the developers or skullgrils, aka the titty fighting game
watch him quote that... "Mmmmhh Titty fighting. I wouldn't get near those girls their nipples could probably cut thru steel."

Ok, I got a copy of the Map saved in a Jpg and I booted up SMM. Yeeeeaaahh.. I'm going to have to use both Stage and Sub-Stage areas to pull this off...

Edit:
*swearing*

I can't do it. The temples are just WAY too Tall/Deep... Using Warp pipes is an Idea, but it breaks it up too much and kills the flow I feel.

Have you tried making it with Mario always being small and faking some proportions? I'm also sure you can do the pit with a warp pipe, Bowser and some other foes as the hungry ghosts and all that.

nah... The way it works there's 2 "screens" You have the "Sky" screen and the "ground" screen.
upload_2015-10-14_9-35-55.png
In this photo, You can see that the Thicker lines stand for a "screen". Anything above this is usually hidden from view, unless someone climbs high enough. The Vertical one stands for scrolling screen. That one's more for Measuring than anything.

WVW69iex7UgqbPC2Um
WVW69iex8RwpzeRHzd
WVW69iex89wB9rzvO3
Shown here is both screens and their height.. The Lava here is a good show of the bottom of the screen.. as you can see, it doesn't leave much to the imagination in Height. Now, Width? That's a beast. Added the Editor Above showing what was actually above the blocks that Mario was standing on, since the screen only scrolls when he's in the middle of the "Sky" screen. You can see the Thick "Screen" bar under the ? Blocks.

So Basically I only have "4 Screens" worth of Height.. Which I need roughly 3~4 at most to do this properly.. Already tried to "shrink" the stage too, and the first drop, before the split with the break away floor, would dip below the screen. Same with temple 2, which would go above the screen x,x So while Warp Pipes would work, it'd break up the flow way too much..

Also another thing I'm worried about is Block limits. You can't use too many blocks else it'll lock you out of making more blocks. I think it's a 200 Block limit or som'in like that.

(took me a bit to get the screen shots cause I have to upload em to MiiVerse, since there's no screen shot save to SD option)

Sorry if that's alot of read. Not sure if you have the game and figured I'd explain anyways for those who wouldn't know ^_^''

I got the Quarter Guy, who I talk to on a daily basis, to try the prototype. He hasn't really started it yet, but hopefully he'll be able to spread the word around as well. He's got a good chunk of subs and is a great guy. He could also possibly get others on the wagon. People like WiidudeRebirth83, Green Scorpion, Josh Scorcher, and the Kitsune Hawk loved Skullgirls, so if I could only find a way to get the message out to these guys, I would. I know GS and Wii Dude have Patreons I've supported in the past so I might be able to send them a message about it. I'll give it a try later on.

COMMISSIONS FOR INDIVISIBLE!
Hey there, Water here! I love Lab 0′s work, especially if you knew me from my Skullgirls rush a few years back and now they’re releasing a new game called “Indivisible”! And it’s an action rpg, so kind of different grounds, don’t worry however, they’re graciously provided a prototype on their indiegogo page!

They have a lot of super neato stuff for donating but where’s the commissions you say?

Well, I’ll be opening commissions! You can either give me the money directly and get something like this-

tumblr_inline_nvr3h9ZN2M1qibccq_540.jpg

Or scour my art tagfor more insight on my skills. either message me on tumblr or email me at waterscraps(@)live.com.au WITH “COMMISSION” IN THE HEADER, OTHERWISE IT WILL BE LOST.

However if you’re planning to already donate to indivisible, you can get a free sketch along with your donation! Just send a screenshot to me with the above email of proof you donated.

Now go support Lab 0!"

If you're on tumblr water can help by doing this

So, I thought it might be fun/easy/a good idea to Photoshop Ajna into climbing a bunch of different things. Maybe make an Internet joke of it.

I don't really have a large audience elsewhere, so feel free to use or spread these as you see fit. I hope it helps!

the recent amount of contributors that donated compared to 6 hours ago really worries me....

MOD EDIT: Spoilered large image.

^This is what I don't understand. This is what makes me feel like people aren't interested at all, or scared of the amount of money needed to success. Is Lab Zero really reaching for everybody? Where are the Japanese fans? European fans? Australia? South America? Something's not right...

At least the lowest was $30. Could of been a wall of $5..

Also, those with all the photos:
Next time... please use a smaller Jpg and not png... not everyone has high speed internet and it takes forever to load...

On a more serious note, if you lack the money to donate (like I do right now ;-; ) telling your friends about it can do a world of good. Two of my better financed friends have both said they're going to donate.

Has anyone attempted to ask AlphaOmegaSin to take a look at it? Indivisible might interest him. Just wanting to know if anyone info'd him bout it already.

Right now the campaign is no longer frontpage on IGG, so the only connection people have to it without knowing about it already is looking on the Gaming Section specifically, or having a direct link to it from somewhere else. This is where having those major videos and articles still popping up would be really important.

I dunno, feel like some people might be underestimating their influence? Like, Rob Porter and Joe Mad gave generous shoutouts to Indivisible on Twitter, but they could also mention the campaign on the Cryamore and BC: Night War campaigns no sweat. That would certainly help a lot, since many of those Backers are fans of oldschool RPGs, and probably aren't following what's going on at IGG.

Of course, you don't wanna bug people too much when they're throwing some generosity your way, but I don't get the impression that Twitter alone is all that impactful right now. People need to see flashy Indivisible things all over the place.

Just watched a few of his videos and messaged him accordingly. Although I do worry that a random person messaging via YouTube isn't the best way to reach these people. You might want to go ahead and message him, too. He seems really enthusiastic when he gets into something, getting him on our side would be good.

There has got to be something we're missing, something that will probably be obvious in hindsight. Hm... Shovel Knight was Kickstarted. Had a much, much smaller goal; was popular after "Yacht Club distributed copies of their initial Penny Arcade Expo demo to several prominent gaming personalities on YouTube, including Two Best Friends Play and Game Grumps." So, are there any big cons coming up where Lab Zero can do something similar?

Likewise, Shovel Knight's also really crossover-friendly: "Characters from Shovel Knight will also be appearing as playable characters in other indie titles such as Road Redemption, Creepy Castle, Runbow, and Hex Heroes." Likewise, there's Shovel Knight vs Kratos/Battle Toads. Would Ajna fit in somebody else's setting? Are there any mascots that would really fit in Indivisible's setting?

Also, is there any way we can get new people to watch the streams? I worry we're caught selling the game to ourselves and not actually getting the word out. I look forward to Mike Z's planned Valkyrie Profile stream; I think it'll be popular with the JRPG crowds. He's certainly right about one thing: we need anti-social media marketing. I'd certainly do a lot better on it, at least. My attempts to get the word out on /r/gaming haven't gone so great. It's hard to compete with Star Wars.

Have faith. The Emperor protects.

Yep, they could've mentioned it there. Now is when we're definitely going to see a low point in donations since it's no longer on the front page of IGG. The reddit idea could still be worth a shot. There's also tumblr possibly. If the donations continue like this, the game definitely won't get funded.

Lab zero really needs to advertise on social media more
