Skullgirls Lore Speculation

"Double's origins are a complete mystery. Seemingly without a will or motive of its own, this formless monster aids the Skullgirl."

Chrono what if "unwilling" means lack of a will?
Also I don't think Double would favor any one member of the Trinity over the other, there's probably some other reason why she would reference Aeon and not Venus.
Well it's a time out thing, so?...

Oh, it's just a joke?
Well mystery fucking solved!
I've got to play this game more often...

Isn't Double Mother's agent who's tasked with "moving the chess pieces" (making sure the Skullgirl stays in line)?

"calls upon her [Mother's] unwilling foothold on the outside"
My interpretation of this is that Venus is getting fed up with all the cloak & dagger bs/Mother's lack of palpable dominion over the feeble mortals and just wants to step into the mortal realm and start kicking ass and take names. Venus' restless and aggressive attitude is thus the polar opposite of Aeon's reserved countenance.

Speaking of which, does the Trinity exist in a different realm? Is there a SGverse take on Earth, Heaven and Hell (Deep V kinda points that way). I recall some talk about A&V not being goddesses per se, they just happen to have totally OP parasites.

Aeon is the one playing Skullgirls in Double's story and Double was her character, so...

I'm sure they mention them being goddesses somewhere, definitely a plural.

Hmm. That would be a weird use of the word unwilling. Unthinking would be more of the word I would use if that's the case.

It plays when she gets KOed as well, doesn't it?

B-but it totally plays on normal KO. I just check a-and all.

I don't think Double favors one goddess over the others considering she does have an intro quote for each goddess.

However being that Aeon can see every possible outcome, Double has an intro quote in which she states "Fighting is futile, Aeon has fortold our victory" pair this with her losing quote "Aeon...why have you forsaken me?" And you see a confused Double as to why Aeon would say one thing and allow another also with the goddeses being in control, Double would be confused as to why they didn't intervine

Now the quote about Venus is a garbled mess of words, so I have no clue what she says about her

Anyone else feel as though Issac is the key to defeating the Trinity?

I don't see how they can be defeated since Aeon can see every possible outcome, Venus is the size of something our tiny minds can't fathom, and Lamia...yeah Lamia. This is pretty much the driving force that keeps me wanting to know the story how can they be defeated when they have all ends covered.

Who says we're gonna win against the gods? With Skullgirls how it is tone-wise, it would make more sense to have a crapsack ending where you, as the player feel miserable.

I don't see that happening, I predict a more bittersweet ending. Complete and total failure doesn't seem fitting.
Skullgirls isn't that bleak and depressing.

Annie's gonna whoop those gods, just you wait.

Aeon's Residence.png

I took another look at Aeon's room and I've decided that The Trinity lives somewhere in outer space, perhaps in a pocket dimension orbiting the planet separated from time and space. That's my head canon until someone can convince me otherwise. My reasoning for this is that cosmic looking thing at the top, it looks like some sort of magic window looking out from Aeon's room.
We should all take a really good look at this and see if we can find anything interesting.

Aeon's porn stash!:PUN:
I just noticed the Mother silhouette in the cosmic gap and the Fortune pieces in the bed. *slowpoke.jpg*
And is that a back pack with the Buer Drive?

Anywho, according to the Wikia, Parasoul worships them and together with what Isaac had Scythana dig up from the War Memorial, something is very rotten in the Kingdom of Canopy. in b4 Parasoul is true villain

Parasoul just has good taste in other ladies it seems
Annie, Venus, Aeon, the other ladies in her Egrets

She also has A Nintendo 64 version of Skullgirls, A Dreamcast, a...book featuring Beowulf and Taliesin, A book titiled Too Many Spoons and a diploma (for some reason). Look at that floor, what is that they are sitting on? any ways, the way Aeon collects thing, they may need to put her on an episode of Hoarders, preferably before she starts collecting people.

I'd say 2006 Skullgirls WOULD be that dark, but current Skullgirls is a bit more optimistic.

True, so it's upgraded from a bitter to a bittersweet ending.

Does Cerebella have multiple vice versas? In her ending she has a different looking hat.

Alex Ahad said that Vice Versa can change his shape and color to an extent.

Thanks, That always bothered me.

Source on this?
Damn, I wish I knew which Salty stream it was that Alex answered this question...

It may have been a quick cop out by Alex to explain why Vice Versa looked like that in the end of Cerebella's story, but it still kind of makes sense. In a lot of Cerebella's moves Vice Versa changes the shape of his horns and face.

Hahaha man are you crazy?
I'm not going to sift through hours of video archives for one insignificant piece of information!

I can be a tad bit "off" in the mornings, you'd be there for minutes, hrs ,days trying to find something that may or may not be right.

Vice Versa is a living weapon, it makes sense that it would be able to transform and change shapes

While on the topic of Living Weapons, besides Theonite, I want to know who or what is creating all these Living weapons and Parsites and why. Also I feel as though living weapons are more dangerous than parasites, being that living weapons don't need a host to survive and could turn on their user any time. Just imagine Hungren deciding it didn't want to serve Umbrella anymore.

I think anyone with the knowledge and resources could create a Parasite or Living Weapon, so it's probably been multiple people throughout the centuries, not just one single person. I think Alex Ahad answered a question like this on his last Q&A, I'm not sure though.
It's confirmed that Parasites can turn on their host, but I don't think Living Weapons are capable of doing that since they are useless without someone to wield them. The worst that they can do to a wielder is not work for them.
Parasites are definitely more dangerous though, the fact that they are as intelligent as humans suggests that.

Living weapons aren't sentient, the act like synthetic parasites, just without the side effects of having parasite

I remember him saying that, that's why I had to ask.

I wasn't sure to what extent they were living, but that makes sense
