Beowulf SPOILERS - Beowulf Story Mode and Other Lore

I personally want Beo and Parasoul to become fighting partners, as in Parasoul becomes his assist or something.
I don't know. As much as I would like to see Beowulf teaming up with Parasoul, I would much rather see Cerebella fan-girling in his presence. Either way I really am curious to see how Beowulf will be characterized, I really hope he's not an ass.

I hope Beowulf kicks Cerebella's ass and chews her out for being a mafia thug.
Maybe being rejected by her hero will make her finally change her ways.

I don't disagree with that.I'm all for Cerebella leaving the mafia. She always seemed so out of place near Taliesin or Tom or Lorenzo. She's not total scum like them.
Back to Beowulf,I can't be the only one who thinks his story has to end with him suplexing someone off a building.

Beo x parasoul (that is creepy considering ages 22 year old dating 30somthing year old pahlease)
Cerebella as a creepy stalker is more likely

Hey a good story mode (i.e. The DLC ones) is characterized by having LOTS of interaction.
We've got enough time for Cerebella AND Parasoul to have minor or major appearances. The REAL question is who else? Maybe a short thing with Andy and Peacock? Maybe a Skulldude fight with Big Band? (I'm sorry folks but I'd side with Ben in that fight, might even lose on purpose...)

Let's see the previous DLC Story Mode's versus characters (aside from Marie) mostly based from memory:

Squigly: Parasoul, random, Filia, random, Double
Big Band: Cerebella, Peacock, Ms. Fortune, Painwheel, Double&Valentine
Eliza: Ms. Fortune, Filia, Double, Filia&Squigly

That means Beowulf would have about 5 people to fight, and I think three of them would be Parasoul, Cerebella, and Peacock. I guess the other two would be filled by Ms. Fortune and Double&Valentine, but I'm not sure.

I'm surprised this hasn't been really brought up, but I wonder what the story is behind his wolf hood. It's real right? so what made him kill and skin one?

According to my "Beowulf is an ex-prince" speculation, Beowulf ran away from his kingdom for an adventure. In the Canopy Kingdom he encountered a wolf which he killed only with his bare hands. That's when he was brought up by some people and started his wrestling career. The wolf he killed would also be part of his outfit, and possibly inspire his name "Beowulf" (that is if Beowulf isn't his real name).

People wear leather all the time and no one bats an eye. Beowulf simply likes his leather a bit less processed.

Where did the meat go, tho?
There's no meat leftovers on the Wulf skin.

I'm afraid what you said about Beowulf's name is right.
Heck, his name's probably Kai Kennedy or Night Phyre.

If it turns out "Beowulf" isn't his real name but said real name isn't revealed, I'm going to theorize that it's Bodvar... something. Initially I thought the name "Bodvar Bjarki" would be appropriate, based on the hero of Hrólf Kraki who's probably the saga's version of Beowulf. However since SG Beowulf is so wolf-themed and "Bodvar Bjarki" means "War-like Little Bear", the name "Bodvar" that means "War-like" would be enough.

Then again Parasoul calls Beowulf "Beowulf" while she calls Big Band "Ben", "Ben" being Big Band's real first name. This would mean that Beowulf is probably his real name as well.

guys guys guys, his real name is obviously wulfins pettywinkle the III

seriously though, I always imagined Beowulf as a stage name, but I could see his real name being it as well. I don't have much on speculation for name, but I wonde where he got his signature chair from? Does he have a tons of The Hurtings waiting home in case one breaks? Did he go through a ton of chairs until he, through a miraculous and beautiful encounter, find The Hurting, and the beat down duo began? WHERE DOES THE CHAIR COME FROM?!

Once upon a time, Beowulf was looking around New Meridian for a chair that his referee can use.
He found one, inside Double-Mart.
He bought it off Double-Mart for 5 bones.
Turns out it was the best chair that they had in the store.
Beowulf was very lucky to have it.
It can cut even the strongest of metal into two, even though it is made of metal, but whatever.
Beowulf fell in love with it, and thus he granted it the name "The Hurting."

On Topic.
So, we won't have a Macho Man Randy Savage voice for Beowulf? because Kaiji definitely nailed the voice pretty good.

XD well The Hurting is pretty amazing.

Based off what I've been reading, I get this feeling in the back of my head that Beowulf's story mode is gonna be pretty laid back. Beowulf seems like that kinda guy to me. Just look at his intro, his mannerisms, and some of his moves! That Russian dance as an attack? It'd be nice to have a more laidback story in SG. Something more comedy-oriented. The game has a ton of opportunity for jokes, but it just really doesn't have the room to make them outside of quotes or visual gags, so Beowulf's being funnier could kinda fix that. Plus I'd think it fit.

I haven't listened to Night Phyre's VAing before, I have absolutely no idea how it will sound, but if you guys trust he'll do a great job (since I'm new here and know nothing about anything and stuff), I assume it'll be perfect :D

It is implicitly stated that Beowulf definitely has a sense of humor, not the morbid ones like Peacock.
People also agreed that Beowulf's story needs to be a calm and hype-oriented one.

Night Phyre is the best at being Beowulf.
"Wulf Peck!"

Amazing my arse, I don't know why people love to make a big deal about the hurting being also powerful. If Beo's chair is supposed to be a reference to Beowulf's Blade the Hrunting then you should know that the sword wasn't very good. In the poem the Hrunting fails in killing Grendel's Mother, forcing Beowulf to discard it and use a blade made by giants to kill her. Maybe it's just that people don't really know the poem and just think that the Hrunting killed both Grendel's Mum and the Dragon at the end of the poem.

But then again, The Hrunting failing Beowulf in a time of battle was a kinda major point in that poem so yeah people are just being dumb.

XD I know it was already stated and stuff. I'm weighing my opinions and ideas...late of course! Because I am a man behind the times!

a-anyways, not to be off topic and such. I wonder what sort of arc Beowulf's story will take. We know about Grendel, but not if he;ll be important, we think there's some connection to Parasoul and a fight with Double and possibly Marie. I believe, and it's highly probable, that it will have something to do with Beowulf's return to fighting, either in the ring, or not at street fights. But aside from that, we really don't know what kinda path it will take. And I'm fresh out of useless ideas.

Kaiji did do a pretty great Randy Savage :)

From my discussions with the team after the sessions were completed, the overall sense that I got was that may of the other auditions were simply too serious, or too joyless. A lot of bulldog-sounding, super deep voices. I was thrilled to be able to play Beowulf in my natural vocal range, as I saw him: always excited to perform for an audience, always ready to laugh (at and with you), and DOESN'T AFRAID OF ANYTHING.

As for his story, I won't confirm or deny any of the speculation, but I'll reiterate: it's not something you'd expect.

The hype is so real. I didn't care about Beowulf, but with all the speculation and trying rethink what we know, expect the unexpected, I'm looking forward to him now more than I was Big Band!

one of Valentines quotes to Beowulf is "Are you all natural or used to needles?" What is that supposed to mean like, is she insulting beowulf?

She's implying he uses steroids, which is a major problem in wrestling.
