I think the current one I was most interested in discussing was our only character left to be added into the playable roster without a confirmed voice actor, our beloved Beowulf!

The person I had thought about and was thinking would be an amazing fit for him was a favorite internet personality of mine, Arin Hanson a.k.a. Egoraptor!

Who do you think would be a good fit for Beowulf? Or any other characters that aren't currently playable in Skullgirls? c:

I'm still hoping for Beowoof to get Ian Sinclair, the guy who voiced (Space) Dandy
Oh Yes, in my head, that is a literal perfect fit for Beowulf, I guess we can hope and wait though. Just the thought of Ian Sinclair voicing Beo is absolutely amazing.

Egoraptor is probably the last person I'd consider I'm sorry he's too silly
I'd put Ego for Sagan (if he'd even have a voice?)
I'm still hoping for Beowoof to get Ian Sinclair, the guy who voiced (Space) Dandy
Also yes Shock is perfect for Brain Drain

^He's got a Batman palette though. :3

Some assorted suggestions:
Beowulf - Richard Epcar
Umbrella - Kristen Schaal
Mrs Victoria / Deep Violet - Karen Strassman (enough range to make each sound distinct)
Black Dahlia - Grey deLisle
Brain Drain - Roger Jackson, Keith Szarabajka, Michael Sorich or Shockdingo would all be good choices IMHO
Minette - Stephanie Sheh (I think it would be interesting if she had a slight Asian accent)
Venus - Danielle Burgio
Aeon - Clare Corbett

I'm not saying Beowulf is Batman serious, but he's a grown ass man. He should have a sarcastic/silly feel in his voice, but still sound like a cool grown man. Dandy does.
Ego sounds like a teenage weirdo on acid
I agree with this 100%.
Ian Sinclair is perfect for the job, if not him then Matt Mercer.

What about Steve Blum as Beo. I likes me some CowBoy Beep Boop and Blum's sexy voice would fit Beo in the manly department, the silliness might be a little bit tougher to pull off though.

But I have to side with Chicken; Ian Sinclair would also be a perfect fit.

How about Steve Buscemi as Beowolf?
the images that popped in my head right now
uugh

Beo- Hulk Hogan

Kevin Michael RIchardson for Stanley Whitefin.

I'm not sure who's union or not, but if there's even a 10% chance of Jaleel White actually voicing Shamone one day, I'm all for it!

Thinking among other somewhat more likely candidates though, I really hope there could be a role for Kyle Hebert at some point. That guy is super talented, and you could tell he had a lot of fun helping out during the SG Breast Cancer drive. Beowulf and Hubrecht are still on the table, so who knows?

Of, course, I'd also still love to hear Cree Summer in SG. No, I'm not imagining her as Roxie. She's got a youthful voice with some grit, so I really think she could bring a unique attitude to a younger character like Hive or Beatrix. I'm also interested in hearing Cree voice more villains, so with Eliza now out of the picture, I'd actually be curious to hear how she might handle Dahlia. Don't doubt her range, folks!

Speaking of Roxie, I actually can't think of any solid VA picks for her. I keep imagining her with a lively yet commanding voice, like a more relaxed version of Parasoul's. The actresses that come to mind for me are people like Erika Alexander or Regina King, but I figure those two would probably not consider working on SG. I'm not sure who else has a similar tone as them though.

Anyway, this is all wishful thinking, so let's just hope there'll be more Skullgirls to look forward to in the first place.

For Beowulf my mind always goes towards a specific voice, but I can't give a name of a person because I don't know who would do it.

In my head he has an accent of some kind, I usually lean towards Irish. And his voice and attitude is that of the Scout from Team Fortress 2, but with more gruff.

EDIT: Also, Nolan North comes to mind as a good candidate. But not for the voice I described above. Just him doing his thing.

Beowulf: Crispin Freeman or Ian Sinclair. But Crispin would be my first choice.

Brain Drain: I'd say Steven Blum but last I heard, he said he couldn't do any work for Skullgirls for some reason. So I guess David Kaye instead.

Ottomo: Both he and Tom should be voiced by Tom Kenny. He definitely has voices appropriate for both.

Illeum: Well if Wendee Lee weren't already voicing Sekhmet, I'd say her. I guess Kari Wahlgren.

Annie: Melissa Fahn. Enough said.

Hive: Cassandra Lee Morris

Stanley: LittleKuriboh

Taliesin: Sam Regal

Feng: Julie Parker

Yu Wan: Patrick Seitz. Just take the voice of Simon from Durarara, replace the Russian accent with an Asian one and there you go.

Scythana: Caitlin Glass

Minette: Stephanie Sheh. Although I still say she should've been the one to voice Sekhmet.

Panzerfaust: GeneralIvan

I still think he's better off as Brain Drain.

Well....

I guess If you want to hear Spongebob come out of that guy you sure can.
Because Spyro 2 showed us that Tom Kenny will always be Spongebob

I don't think Beatrix is that young, she's just really short.
I mean isn't she an assassin or something? Cree Summer wouldn't be a good match.

I just want you all to know, I love ya lots <3

Beowulf: Ian Sinclaire, after watching Space Dandy, I've seen that he can work wonders with humour, panic, badass, and apathetic situations. I know that the Steve Buscemi bit was a joke, but (forgetting logistics and going with just the voice) it could be a bit of interesting inspired casting. I can see him making Beo have a unique and more sarcastic tone. Wouldn't be my first choice, but it could make for interesting material!

Panzerfaust: GeneralIvan's audio clip was great. He had such an intense and rich accent accent, but very focused, restrained tone.

Isaac: I really liked the jive that Antfish/Anthony Sardinha put into his clips, though I could see Kevin Michael Richardson doing a great treatment.

Dahlia: I agree with @KaboomKid , Cree could be a really interesting choice. Her tone could really enhance the danger and mystique of her character.

Scythana: Ashleigh Ball or Elizabeth Daily, I like the rougher tomboy tone they can bring to Scy.

Molly: Kimlinh if she's doing her wobbuffet impression like in Voices of Gaming hah. If Molly's actually going to speak: Kristen Schaal could make her adorkable (VoG and that salute hah)

Annie: This is a tough one, I'd like to hear what Mae Whitman could do with her. I think she could sell the super heroine of the stars aspect.

Beatrix: I think Grey DeLisle/Griffin would knock it out of the park.

Hive: Since we already have Zone, maybe he could ask Caxx? I think her voice used in either Willhelm Park (a more subdued and sarcastic read of the character) or Z-TV could work.

Umbrella: In the Voices of Gaming episode with Parsoul's playthrough Sarah Anne Williams did a great job!

Stanley: Josh Tomar, after Jaxxy's video during the fundraising I can't hear anyone else.

Adam: Completely a blank slate for me, I did like what Kaiji Tang did with his voice in the VoG episode though. Pretty non-plussed and chill.

Wow, I referenced that episode of VoG a lot hah.

I need more examples of Cree Summer's range 'cause when I think of her I think of Number 5 from Kids Next Door. Daveigh Chase for Umbrella, all the way.

I meant young as in younger than Roxie. I'm assuming Beatrix and Hive fall into that teenage group with most of the other girls.

And maaan, I told you not to doubt Cree! Just look at that resume. Kitana, Hyena, Vixen, Nefertina, Blackarachnia...the lady knows how to voice a badass assassin! Heck, give Hyena a makeover and keep her off the sugar, and you almost got Beatrix.

According to Alex Ahad Hive is around 15, I always saw Beatrix as in her early 20's at least.
I'd say Roxie looks like she's in her late 20's.

Also I have no idea who any of those characters are, except maybe Kitana.
Was she in Mortal Kombat or something?

When I said Tom Kenny should be Tom, I meant he should use his Starscream voice for Tom. And I'm pretty sure he has a poncy dignified butler like voice that can work for Ottomo too.

The man does have more range than most people give him credit for.

Would this help? http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Cree-Summer/

It sounds like Beatrix still has a lot to prove, but I guess I can imagine her as a late bloomer. Kinda irrelevant as far as most of these voice actresses are concerned though.
Also I have no idea who any of those characters are, except maybe Kitana.

It was for MK: Defenders of the Realm. Not a good show, but that definitely wasn't Cree's fault. Just Google her. You should be able to find clips for her roles as Kitana, Nefertina, and Blackarachnia (TF: Animated) pretty quick. Sadly most of her "Not Susie/No.5/Foxxy" roles end up being for minor supporting characters, but that's why I'd love to hear her go all-out for something like SG.

I've already said elsewhere that Ian Sinclair is so perfect for Beowulf that they even look alike, but beyond that:

-Leduc: Derek Stephen Prince
-Panzerfaust: Chris Sabat ("I, Panzerfaust, will knock you down!")
-Hubrecht: Patrick Seitz
-Isaac: either Khary Payton or Paul Eiding, depending on how they want to go about his characterization.

I second using Tom Kenny, his voice for Plastic Man is spot on. That said, instead of Ottomo/Tom, I think irvin would be a better choice for him.

my dream voice for Yu-Wan is unfortunately Mako. he would've been perfect if they could have gotten him.

so, like he did for Iroh, I would love Greg Baldwin to take his place.

For Scythana- Cherami Leigh. I can imagine her pulling it off.

who was the guy that voiced Abdul in the test dub for JJBA SC? he needs to voice Isaac.

Avdol was Chris Tergliafera, who is so new to VA that even I could only find Avdol himself and Gundam from DanganRonpa 2 for his characters.

he was really good though. for a new guy he has some amazing talent.

-Leduc: Derek Stephen Prince
oh god no!

give him Jason Liebrecht!

just wanting to say, DSPVA (AKA mr.Prince) is like nails on a chalkboard to me when he's a main character. Liebrecht is smooth but can also come off as adolescent.

So I don't know a lot of voice actors, so this is mostly based off of roles I've previously heard. Also not even really sure who Lab Zero can get to play these parts, so this is just sort of like a stream-of-consciousness thing.

Christopher Sabat seems like he would work well for Hubrecht; he's played a fair number of characters focused upon strength (Namely, Vegeta in DBZ Kai and Major Armstrong in FMA:Brotherhood).

I'd probably pick Steve Heinke as a potential VA for Leduc. The way in which he portrays the male Wii Fit Trainer makes him sound something like an RPG protagonist (Really, just listen to the way he shouts "Salute the Sun!" in Smash4), and...please don't take this the wrong way, but I think Leduc kinda seems like he has an RPG protagonist-like air about him.

Nicole Oliver seems like she could do a good Aeon, mostly because of how she sounds playing Princess Celestia (Friendship is Magic). The sort of power and elegance in that voice strikes me as a good voice for a Goddess or Deity like Aeon (Especially since, in comparison to Venus, she seems to be playing up her Goddess-hood). Perhaps a bit younger, a bit more cheerful (Like the way Double's unedited clips would sound?), add a nice echo effect, and that's more or less how I imagine Aeon.

Wayne Doster might make a passable Isaac. The way in which he portrayed Duo (Mega Man 8) seemed like it would coincide similarly to how I think Isaac would function—normally soft-spoken and logic-driven, but man, can that guy get mad if he needs to.

I do really like ShockDingo's Brain Drain voice, but at the same time, I feel he takes a tad too long to say things (The whole Valentine intro line about "Who brought Carol to her new home?" comes to mind as an example)—and because fighting games are so fast-paced, you don't have a lot of time to say stuff. The troubling part is, how do you get the words in while getting him to sound eloquent and intellectual? Whoever can figure that one out definitely has my support.

Oh, yes, and DustyOldRoses did a pretty nice Black Dahlia a while back—a bit rough around the edges, sure, but I think she could pull it off.

sorry i took so long for a reply, the beowulf buscemi image fucked me up.. every time i came to the thread to respond i had to leave to re-coupe.

One thing that bugs me about this is you must have only heard him in Game Grumps, because he IS a a very good voice actor, which means he dosn't just play himself when he voices characters. Starbomb isn't a good example of his /voice acting/ either because he isn't playing a character, he's just playing himself.

As a voice actor, Arin has an incredibly smooth voice capable of a wide range, and as a voice actor, it IS his job to ACT as a character.

also lol at everyone hopping on Ian's dick cuz of his recent work as Dandy, also how can you say Arin is too silly when Ian was literally paid to play someone stupidly silly.
