Eliza A Song of Blood and Beauty - Eliza Lore & Speculation

On a different note... judging from the cameo in the Streets of New Meridian, somebody at Lab Zero is a fan of Supergiant Games. So I'm just gonna say it: if there isn't a palette for fellow Eliza's fellow ass-kicking singer, Red from Transistor, that will be a truly sad missed opportunity.

Eliza A Song of Blood and Beauty - Eliza Lore & Speculation

Am saddened that Eliza almost certainly didn't get the hellfire clone in the concept above. As someone with fond memories of Symphony of the Night, it would have been awesome. I'm not the professional game designer, though, and I get "is awesome" isn't reason enough.

Daisy Pusher on Sekhmet has no graphics

Squigly's Daisy Pusher functions as expected on Sekhmet, but Sekhmet has no relevant graphics -- she just stands there for a few frames before vanishing. Presumably this is because Sekhmet ordinarily cannot be tripped, and the Daisy Pusher, to the best of my knowledge, uses "tripped" graphics...

Sekhmet prevents "Max" Meter recovery for both characters

In training mode, while Sekhmet is out, Eliza does not recover meter even when the meter is set to "Max", which of course makes sense. However, the same applies to her opponent; spent meter doesn't refill for them until Sekhmet returns. Note that this just applies to auto-refill from "Max" meter...

Blood for the Blood Goddess! Eliza BETA Gameplay Discussion

Training room discovery of the day: yes, you can fit a Sekhmet summon in between the beam and barrage stages of Argus Agony, provided you have a good bit of distance. Whether or not this is a good idea is an altogether different question, of course -- is it worth eating the lower half of an...

    The Smash Bros Discussion Thread

I like the Miis in theory, but cannot shake the worrying feeling that the 12 special moves for the Miis will translate into "4 special moves and 8 ways to make a mistake."

Blood for the Blood Goddess! Eliza BETA Gameplay Discussion

Thanks for the video; just found the methodological error on my part. Forgot to set damage from "100%" to "Normal". *Headdesk*. Was able to replicate your results with both Argus Agony and Inferno Brigade thereafter.

Blood for the Blood Goddess! Eliza BETA Gameplay Discussion

Well, it's not perfect. Attacks from behind or above get no armor; a quick jump attack or The Hole Idea (for Peacock) can position for punishment. (Though this, as I said before, depends on her specials, and whether she gets a good one to cancel out of.) And certain grabby moves hurt. The Silver...

Eliza A Song of Blood and Beauty - Eliza Lore & Speculation

"No tricks." That's what Leviathan's saying, I think, when Eliza gets called in. Given their history, that sounds like a fair reaction to calling her in for help. Wondering if there's any other interesting comments to be heard. Also, I don't think all such quotes to/about Eliza from other...

Eliza A Song of Blood and Beauty - Eliza Lore & Speculation

They've already got quotes for Eliza from other characters, or at least tag-in quotes. Most of them are pretty simple (e.g. "Eliza!"), but I'm trying to make out what Leviathan has to say for one of the tag-ins. I can't quite make it out, but it's muttered under his breath, and he does not sound...

Blood for the Blood Goddess! Eliza BETA Gameplay Discussion

My first question was: "unlimited projectile armor, but vulnerable to overhead attacks. So what does that mean for Shadow of Impending Doom?" A bit of time in the training room gave me answer. You can drop a fully-charged Shadow straight on her head and she'll just keep going. Egads. EDIT...

Blood for the Blood Goddess! Eliza BETA Gameplay Discussion

As a Peacock player... well, let me just say that when I heard the words "unlimited projectile armor," the noise I made literally made my sister run into my office to make sure I wasn't dying or something. This is going to be really interesting to learn how to defend against. Curious to see if...

Eliza A Song of Blood and Beauty - Eliza Lore & Speculation

I have to wonder just how old she is. We know the Skullheart isn't eternal; Samson and Leviathan predate it. If Eliza does as well... there would be something oddly satisfying, I think, hearing her mock the Skullheart and Double as arrogant young upstarts. Also, count me as curious as every one...

    Beowulf Thread: Retiring from Retirement

...you did. I meant to say "Valentine," at 6'0, but had Parasoul on the brain.

    Beowulf Thread: Retiring from Retirement

Ah, thanks for the link. Appreciate it. That puts him a few inches below Valentine and Eliza, but that says more about them than him. (He's probably billed at 6'1 or 6'2; wrestlers always get a few inches added to their real heights in the papers.) EDIT: First time around I accidentally said...
