Death sound plays without the character actually dying

Watch around 6:17.... you will notice that Gregor hits Valentine, and you hear the "death" sound, but Valentine does not die. I was thinking it might be possible that this is some freak roll-back situation; however this video is from Duckator's point of view. It's possible that Negus cancelled into Hatred Install before Valentine's death on his end, but I've actually had this happen to me during my matches as well. Is anyone else seeing this in a clearly reproducible case? Is it possible that "death" sometimes trigger before actual character death?
 
Lag/roll-back. It doesn't matter it was Duckators point of view. I don't know why anyone would think it's something else.

I mean this kind of stuff happens in SF3:OE all the time.
