USA [Dec 8, 2017] SALTY! Friday Weeklies @ Game Realms (Burbank, CA)

Hey, so I've got Saturday off this week, which means I'll be able to stay late.

How likely is Tetris Attack gonna be a thing this week? Now that I can actually stay for the end of that tournament, I would not mind running the bracket.

HI GUIZ! I don't know how many people remember me, but I was the producer and director for the Skullgirls EVO streams. So, I streamed at Game Realms a few weeks ago and I found out that Salty is there! I'm not sure who's producing it right now, but I would LOVE to stream some Skullgrillz action again. GR is only like 1 1/2 hours away for me, which is heaven compared to the 3 hours I have to drive when I stream at WNF (I love ESA, but damn that drive is killer). Anyway, I've majorly upgraded (I'm even negotiating an esports contract with a college league!) since the last time you guys saw me so if I'm welcome, I'm down to stream for the SG community once again. :)

Mike handles the stream and all that.
At the moment, usually his beta builds are streamed on his developer kit so it starts once he arrives.

I would start a group DM with @Mike_Z and @Mag_GameRealms perhaps?

I hella remember you, and if you wanna stream Salty, instead of me doing that, I AM ALLLLLLLLLLLL for that. We use twitch.tv/game_realms because y'know support the venue, but I only have one mic and it's kinda bad.

IMPORTANT:

Mike Z will be in Japan for about 2 weeks, so the next Salty on October 14th will be run by Weatherbee and Dyne. We will also be using Game Realm's brand new streaming equipment for the first time too!

We are also planning to have Salty Skullgirls Tounaments become a Weekly Friday event instead of just Bi Weekly. We will make a formal announcement after Mike has returned from his trip.

And lastly, to anyone who loves cosplaying and Halloween costumes, we are holding our first Annual Game Realms Halloween Costume Contest!

Date : October 29th to 31st, 3 days to show up in costume to enter!

Come to Game Realms in your Halloween costumes to
enter our First Annual Halloween contest to win prizes!

Play various horror & Hallowen video games in our gaming room!

We will give out FREE CANDY for trick or treating!

Our sound system wil play various Halloween and Horror themed video game music!

Contest will be split into two categories with two age groups:

Video Game Costume - Adults (16 Years old and up)
Video Game Costume - Kids (15 Years old or below)
Other Costumes - Adults (16 Years old and up)
Other Costumes - Kids (15 Years old or below)

When entering ,we will need to take a photo your costume and get each contestant's name and contact info like a phone number.

You can enter a maximum of two seperate costume entries per category.

Example: You can cosplay as Super Mario as Entry 1, and Link from Zelda as Entry 2, in the video game category.

Or you can cosplay as Superman as Entry 1 , and Batman as Entry 2 for the Other costume category.

If you enter both categories, you can essentially enter a total of 4 different costumes.

Please bear in mind that only ONE costume will be chosen as a winner in each category within an age group.

PRIZES: A winner will be selected for each category within an age group. Winner will recieved a Game Realms Gift Card valued at $100 USD.

Come to our event to enjoy free candy, mingle with other folks in costumes, and play our various horror/Halloween themed video games in the gaming room!

Does gamerealms archive their streams and/or upload them to you youtube? I missed tuning in this weekend.
 
For the next Salty, we will be using the Game Realms streaming equipment for the firs time! I like to try and record and stream at the same time, so that we can archive the videos on Youtube. We shall see if it works on Friday.

Reminder: Nov 25 we will NOT have locals. Game Realms will be running a Black Friday sale, and it's also the day after Thanksgiving. So stop by there to support them and buy some games, but not for Salty!

I can hold casuals at my place this Friday (11/25) 8pm-3am
 
Attention: Next week we will be running just casuals all night! We want to try doing this at least one time a month. Tournaments are great, but it also limits the play time people can get since we need to keep stations free for tournament purposes. This way people have a better opportunity to sit down and really practice against people, and just in general take it easy, or play other games they don't get to play often while at Salty.

A note from Game Realms: Our bathrooms as of 12/27/16 are still out of order. We had a plumber check it over, and the problem may very well extend to the other units in the building. We have informed our landlord and he will be having someone take a look at it soon, but due to the holidays we do not have an exact ETA on when that is happening. Unless I update this info later, there is a good chance we will not have restrooms available during Salty this coming Friday on Dec 30th. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
