Because it's the most Toriyama thing ever. Dude doesn't know shit about fan theories and fan feedback and just lives in his own little bubble, with his editors occasionally coming in to tell him to do things.

I think someone asked him about Launch and he flat out forgot about the character completely.

Launch was retconned out of canon purely because of God's Forgetfulness

I mean, i kinda saw base Goku and Vegeta coming but on the other hand...

Am I the only one sad that Base Goku isn't barefoot? And Vegeta doesn't have his Scouter, even though both of them are explicitly their Sayian Arc incarnations?
 
Hey Switch owners! You can download the beta client from the eshop right now! (It actually appeared a couple of days ago but I digress)

The beta however doesn't start until the 9th and ends on the 11th and you'll have 23 characters to choose from!
 
It's really disappointing to me how Broly doesn't have a special intro with Goku Black. If there were one, Broly would confuse him for Goku/Kakarot, and GB would reply:

"I am not this Kakarot you speak of. I am a god!"

So... why can't they edit 18's moveset to exclude 17 in her attacks now that this happened?

People DID want at least one more Goku.

Ultra Instinct/SS4/Kid Goku were all characters that people wanted.

They just appealed to nobody with this choice.

The only thing that i think could be called universally hated by like 80+% is Dragonball Evolution.

Hating on GT is a meme as far as i know and nobody looked back at it for like 10 years or so, but theres a bunch of ideas and concept and moments people like about GT.
