thank you everyone who played and watched this week, I'm winner.

Sorry it ended up starting late and being weird. I maybe should consider not being in voice chat during the stream things got a little goofy.

C-c-could I r-run it?

Maybe I'll open up a challonge and if 5+ people sign up, I"ll do it.

I can stream, but I don't have a wheel. I could just use an online dice roller or something to choose the games.

Did I do it right? I'll check back on this later.

this week's winner is @Squire Grooktook with this week having a high score of at minimum 3 hotaru supers landed and lots of twinkle stars sprited.

Thank you everyone for participating and watching.

When there is less than 10 people I should really consider having each person pick two games, that way losers bracket can have a different game for each of their rounds so people don't lose in a game their first round and then get stuck losing in the same game.

Edit:
and this is the fastest signups for the next week that has ever happened and I should have been doing it like this the entire time

I'm gonna try to attempt to make an effort to do school stuff, so I won't be hosting ggpogirls this week.

Like last time, if anyone else wants to run it in my place I will wholly support you or help you with anything you need.

Sadly, doubt I'll be able to make it. Preparing for exams. If I get some free time I will though.

I have a friend who's wanted to participate in this for a while, but he's been busy with moving arrangements for a while now. He'll probably become a consistent mainstay like me soon though.

I'm a dumb who forgot this was happening last night. RIP.

(I blame the new DOOM making me wanna play the old Doom).

This week's winner is Grook's friend, Scrubtrash, who I don't believe has an account here but is pretty good at videogames from what I have been able to see. Thanks to everyone who played and watched, I most shamefully had to leave right as it was ending which was really really bad on my part.

Let me know how you guys felt about Winnergame/Losergame and whether or not I should continue this way or try separating the two and spinning twice a round. It seems pretty effective whenever the person who picked it plays, because they can rest assured they will play a game they picked if they win or lose.

Also I can't run this next week (sadly) but hopefully provided not every goes wrong and I can attend, the experience I've earned from these will pay off in the mystery game tournament at combo breaker.

I like it, except for one caveat: maybe don't group the same persons winners/losers game choice.

IE Scrubtrash got his pick during finals, and it allowed him to go from one kusoge game he's good at to another one he's good at. And, while I'm not salty about losing, I shall never forgive that I was forced to play Soccer, the least american sport ever conceived.

I would think maybe something like this:

Person#1 picks game A winners and game B losers.
Person#2 picks game C winners and game D losers.

The Wheel would spin between:

Game A + Game D
/
Game C + Game B

So basically just shuffle the losers choices a bit, maybe. Might make things a bit more "fair", since each person would get one game they might not be familiar with and one they might be familiar with. Not sure if good idea or not.

signups for this week which is definitely happening, I will also not shamefully leave my own tournament in grand finals hopefully ever again.

This week we're still doing two games per player, but the games are not kept together. Like last time, winners and losers will have different games each round and the wheel will be spun twice a round.

this week was good I think despite the lack of participants, I won tho. Thank you to everyone who showed up to play or watch.

Next week, however I will not be able to run this as I'm going on a roadtrip.

Would've been there, but I was busy grinding my knuckles to dust playing percussion at a wedding in Kentucky. It's been three days since, and I can almost pick up a controller again!

This summer class is kinda horrible so once again, not sure if I can make it. Will try though.

By the way, another forum I visit is doing a Twinkle Star Sprites tournament sometime soon, if you're interested.

Can't make it tonight since I'm going to the Chicago monthly, but I am interested in that TSS tourney. I assume this is shmups.system11.org?

this week's winner if @Squire Grooktook for the two man tourney runback from last time.

I've been thinking about this and I feel like I should consider making this not a weekly thing, but just a once in a while tournament thing like the ones katy parry runs so I can instead make an attempt to get one big tournament with upped ante's instead of average sized spontaneously arranged tournaments. If this sounds better/worse to anyone let me know. If this ends up to be the case I will make an effort to establish clear and specific rules for games that aren't fighting games.

Hmmmmm...

I don't quite like the idea, mostly because I think weekly is just the perfect balance of time to make it feel special without it being too long a wait.

I think we just need to recruit more people, get a bit more momentum.

this week's winner is
@Squire Grooktook who definitely didn't rig the wheel to produce two st's in a row because wow what are the odds of that.

started off about an hour late this week and ran into some issues with canadian video game embargos but I feel everything ended up working out for the better. Thanks to everyone who played and everyone who watched.
