USA SOMF: Skullgirls Official Meetups in Florida

Lol, Guess I won't be making from scratch cheese cake either then. Any requests for drinks or food though? As long as it's not beef jerky or some expensive ass stuff I won't mind too much. Also, I have to work 10pm again so I'll have to leave at 9:30 again. (not a bad time though) P.s. are you busy until 4:30? cause I was just running late last time due to misplacing my car keys and loading up all that stuff.

Kitten Safari has class until 3:45 and I'm her ride.

Intended double-entendre.

Anyway, Valencia East is only like 15 minutes from my house (thanks to living immediately next to the 408), but 4:30 gives me enough time to get home and close all the pornography I left open.

Ummm, not really related to Skullgirls but does anyone wanna go to Halloween Horror Nights 23? I wouldn't mind going (even with somebody else) and I wouldn't mind not going but I'm mos def not going alone. Not cause I'd be "scared" or anything but It would just blow being there by myself. That's like going to Olive Garden alone, you could do it but it's depressing AF.

For those who care, Avery Sets (It's a pun!) is happening at my place, yet again. It's become a thing. Every Saturday at 4:30pm.

If enough people show up, it'll be streamed at http://www.twitch.tv/broken_loose (or at least the matches on my main computer will be streamed).

I have 2 setups. More are welcome. Plenty of parking. PM me or Steam me for my address and phone number.

Family emergency has come up. Tomorrow isn't happening. See you guys next week!

I was going to bring a gift this week too, plus I have to wait until next time so I can get that 3mm allen wrench to put this button that Hops gave me into my fightstick. Missing out on "Avery Sets" and having it cut short probably wouldn't be that bad to me if it weren't the only thing I had to look forward to every week besides my paycheck, seeing as Salty is now on Fridays and I work Fridays with no exception. (After proof reading this I realized it sounds very selfish with all of the "I's" and "Me's" but the thing is, I understand and accept fully, the fact that people have other things to do.)

Palm Beach area. As far as I know, the closest air-dashers are an hour away.

I am in Washington DC, but my hometown is Orlando. I will always be home on things like Spring Break, Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and the Summertime. I will also be home at random times. You should probably add me, I won't be home most of the time but during big breaks I am available. I play PC but I got an eightarc fusion synthesis so I can play on all the SG systems. My house is in Windermere.

Damn, now I feel bad about talking such shit.

Okay, this weekend, nothing is happening at my place. I have to drop my mother off at the airport, take a family friend to Disney, attend a wedding, drop off/pick up @Kitten Safari from her class, and if that weren't enough CEO Never Sleeps is this weekend.

@OfficerTencents, if you want to get your L-tool, let me know and we can arrange a time.

If this causes anybody to be without anything to do this Saturday, consider watching the Skullgirls Expo tournament, which will likely be streamed. I take no responsibility for an abundance of free time.

I will be home from the 28th and will leave Dec 1st. Want to do a get together to practice our mad skills? I MIGHT be able to have it at our house. MAYBE.

Yo, so I am going to be home in Orlando ALL THIS DECEMBER. If any of you guys want to hit up go on right ahead.

Im going to be home in orlando also like at the end of the week if anything happens

wow it looks like there are not a lot of SG players in Florida, eh I feel like im the only player in my area, saddening

There really isn't sadly ^
What part of Florida are you from? You can add us on steam and play with us online at the very least

Tampa-Hillsborough

Nobody here in Miami-Dade County. (Please, somebody prove me wrong)

^*waves*. Im in broward so im not too far.

I'm Tampa-Hillsborough aswell, though I don't play anymore (hoping Eliza will bring me back in). But man, had I known about all that free food at the beginning of the thread...

If anyone goes to FIU I can play on tues for a couple hours.

It goes like this:
If we can get at least 32 people to show up at CEO Prologue (https://www.facebook.com/events/556207604475222/) for SGE, then Jebailey will add it to the CEO Roster. We have to provide our own equipment and shit, though*. So spread the word.

*This means it's cheaper because you don't have to pay the full venue fee!

We have to try and do this, we have to make it to the big leagues

It should be much easier to run Encore now since it is now on the PS3.

which version would we use, PC and PS3 do not have the same edition. personally endless Beta i think would be the best version but that is on PC so idk how that would work for a tournament

I would rather use the PC to be honest since it gets small updates constantly and would be the most current but console is just the easier route.

PS3 will be standard. The aim of the update schedule has been to keep all versions of the game synchronized from Encore onward. Hopefully Big Band will be out by the end of the month, too.

It's way easier to bring PS3s to tournaments, way easier to get controllers working on them, and we can use Evo monitors with no fuss.

this is a weird question, but does PS3 support wired 360 controllers. . .its the only thing I practice on

Nah, there's a security chip in 360 controllers that make them unique. You'd have to dual-mod or borrow a PS3 controller. Do you use pad or stick?

I use a pad, i found an adapter that makes the PS3 think it is a ps3 controller though so I should be good

Well, here's a litmus test:
The tournament is on Saturday. There is a casuals night on Friday night. I'd prefer to fight on Saturday but I understand it if people would rather not have it compete with their other games. Then again, I don't really care too much about trying to work around the other games because I know for a fact that Jebailey won't do anything to accommodate us other than begrudgingly take our money.

The spectator fee (because SGE won't be a "real" game) is $5. The regular tournaments will have a $10 buy-in. I'm tempted to hold the tournament with a $5 (or possibly $8) buy-in to get more impulse competitors, but I'm gonna have to talk to the Season's Beatings guys to get the actual numbers of how much their experiments changed tournament attendance. That, and a smaller pot is a deterrent all its own.

While I research this, I'd appreciate if people piped in with Saturday (essentially any time from noon to 11pm), or Friday night (8pm to midnight), and whether or not a $10 pot fee would break the bank compared to a $5 pot fee. Then I'll start posting announcements and shit wherever I can once a consensus is reached.
