The Melty Blood Thread

Anyone still play this? If so, hit me up. I'm getting back into it, and the netcode works very good now.

Main: F-Nero
Subs: F-PCiel, F-Hime

Trying to learn: F-Maids

(yes I like Full moon)

I'm learning the game...slowly...I play H-Powered Ciel...and C-Eltnum cause UNIEL....I haven't really played around with anyone else too much.

Yo, does C-moon kinda suck, its combos are harder because reverse beat doesn't work out too well for ABC combos. I do like C-moon because I can 2C > 5B instead of doing a launcher but still, I find my plateau of C-moon combos to be around 15 hits. H-moon is beast! Anyway, I'm a skrub who just picked this game up like a week ago, need help setting up online/ finding people to play.

C-moon is fine and reverse beat combos work just fine from my experience.

Sure H moon is the most aggressive of the playstyles, but you also have the least amount of control over your meter.

Is a pretty fun game, good to see some people who still plays this game.

Maining H-Nayaya Shiki, and TRYING to learn C-Powered-Ciel, (Still trying to find a suitable moon)Shiki Tohno Aaaaand C-Roa.
I'm only trying to learn Tohno Shiki cause I played the original Visual Novel, DON'T JUDGE ME!

Its a fun little experience, it makes the game more frantic, increases your yomi.

Im getting more into H-moon

Of all places, Skullheart is probably least likely to care that you play a fighting game because of the porn.

Welp, is not like I played Melty first and THEN played the Visual Novel or anything... B-B-B-B-BAKA.

No, combos are easier cuz its abc jc bc jc c throw for good damage. Reverse beat scales damage, so you dont want to do it much in 1 combo. Besides, mb isnt bout long combos. Its all 2a, spacing, and fishing for counter hits

I've been playing with a new bud now and I've realized that. Ive found that 2c>5b>jb>jc>jb>jc works good for spacing with Riesbye, P Ciel and Aoko.

Hi, I'm new to Melty Blood, add me if you want to play some matches (EU).

Melty Blood HD never. More Tsukihime has to happen first which is slowed to a crawl [although there was recent news about it a month ago] with Fate boom renaissance that is happening now. Doesn't help that UNiB seems to be the developers new thing now as well with other side projects.
That aside, started playing this game again for the hell of it and it's nostalgic.

I have a friend that loves melty and I keep having this urge to practice more just to beat him because I have a stupid fighting game ego.

any tips for Ciel? normal ciel, still experimenting with forms, any suggestions or videos?

Melty DB has basically all the tournament footage organized by character or by matchup, so that's super useful.

For Ciel in particular, I only really use C-Ciel (and I'm trying other chars since I'm not sure she is my style), but a few things I've found are:

-her 214A and j.214A are often more useful than the B versions. B versions are more damaging, but A versions lock the opponent in place allowing for an easier combo
-236C is a scary tool, but must be used sparingly. It's far from safe on block, but it does punish wild moves from your opponent alright.
-Apparently Ciel is quite good at converting off of stray hits, so you'll need to get good at confirms.

see me in melty

^ isn't that what everyone that doesnt play melty says

What's the online community like for Melty?

Awesome. I just popped my head in and it looked pretty full. Thanks for the heads up.

Now to find the thumbdrive I've the game saved on...

Anyone want to body me some time this week? I've been mostly just practicing my WArc. I think I have Caster set up correctly, and I should be good to go.

New fighting game to be horrible at?

Where do i sign up

Krack, you any good? I was practicing Warc, but I couldn't find any one to play (though admittedly, I didn't try too hard).

I hope you like the corner cuz you'll be stuck there a lot lel

I don't want to brag or nothing... but I took one off of him :P

If more people want to play, I'd definitely like to get better at it.

Melty is a fucking blast.

Gonna strim Melty tonight
@joshb911 feel free to use me as a heavy bag to see how nice your Miyako is
We will see. I've got some beer and pasta to consume tonight

I think we're friends on Steam, but anyone playing should add me.

I'd almost always be down for a game.
