I remember in Killer Instinct 2, after the characters were chosen, Player 1 could press certain buttons to select a stage, and Player 2 could press buttons to select the background music. By doing this, you could play on a stage with another stage's music playing.
I realize it's probably beyond the engine's capability, but I think it'd be neat to have something like this.
