Street Fighter 4

Pretty sure that's the deal with everyone's taunts.

It seems to be that for all new chars. Haven't checked.
Though it's no news that sf3 has a waaaayy classier artistic direction than sf4 (and USF4 smells really lazy...).
Not surprised in the least.

This is a pretty sweet tool if you want to give it a crack: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fullmeter.fat

It's a Frame Data tool that does a bunch of neat manipulation of the data. One option lets your character then choose your opponent's character. Select any of your opponent's moves and it will spit out a list of every move you can use to beat it.

Also, it's totally free. Woo~

YET!

Remember when he got hospitalized and capcom "kindly" sent him his assignments instead of a "please get better ono-san, take the rest of the week off" letter?

Maybe having to apologize for the "sf5 will be pay2win" stupidity was too much (i STILL believe some big name ther actually want this to happen... pray there's someone left in the development part strong enough to stop these morons)

He won't be neither the first nor the second to abandon the company. It's for the best

TBH, I would not mind a F2P version and a retail version of the game. it worked for DOA and I feel its a really good deal in the long run. people who don't want to pay get a small roster that doesn't change, and if you ever find a character on rotation there's nothing stopping you from buying that character at a reasonable price.

Most of what I read about this has framed it as if some folks at Capcom wanted introduce the ability for weaker players to purchase in-game advantages so they could feel more competitive against stronger ones.

That’s quite a bit different than charging for full access to a roster that’s at least intended to all be on an even playing field.

DoA did it right because there was no in game power up or whatever. You were just limited to 4 (now 5 because Jann Lee got released to the F2P players forever) characters with the occasional free trial character every now and then.

it also helped that the characters they first picked has a lot of replay value in arcade mode since they all had a lot of costumes to unlock.

but really, I hope street fighter goes the DoA route and not some lame power up route.

We'll only have to wait and see.

The reports about what business models are being considered seem like they’re a bunch of “he said she said” stuff right now. Sound like anything could be happening and I won’t bother taking a guess about where things are actually going since I don’t know enough about the people involved.

From VG247
The rumour arose out of a Japanese-language report translated by EventHubs.

According to the site, Capcom president and COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto told press at E3 that the publisher wants the next Street Fighter to be more accessible.

“We’d like to steer away from making the next game such that skilled players will win, but unskilled players will lose almost instantaneously,” the executive is reported to have said.

He apparently went on to discuss some kind of pay-for-advantage system. As this has now been shot down, we can only assume it was a miscommunication.

From EventHubs
Updated: Capcom's Yoshinori Ono addressed Sports Nippon's report today and said that the "pay to win model is not accurate and isn't something we're planning for.

"Sorry for the confusion! We're still in early planning stages and will share more at a later date," added Ono.

Earlier: Although Capcom did not announce a new fighting game at E3 this year, according to Sponichi Annex, the online portal for the Sports Nippon Japanese newspaper, one of the fighting games maker's top executives did make a few comments regarding the next Street Fighter.

Also from EventHubs
Following the clarifications made by Capcom's Yoshinori Ono on Twitter yesterday, Capcom president and COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto has released today an official statement on the company's investor relations site refuting the claims made in Sponichi Annex's report.

According to the press release, during the press interview Tsujimoto did not make "any comments on adjusting [the] strength of characters in the game" by means of a pay system.

Oh dear. Capcom is now for sale. Here's a rundown by Maximilian:

I just want Platinum to get Dante and all of his pizza and bills

That's it

The only thing I want is for Microsoft to not get Capcom.
Don't get me wrong, Microsoft is a pretty good company, has some nice IPs, Operating Systems, and messaging programs, but...
It's hard NOT To get bitter Rare memories at the thought of this.
I really don't want there to be a repeat of what essentially ended my childhood.

Just no back divekicks and counter takes white damage

Just no back divekicks and counter takes white damage
Also the counter taking white damage is kind of a stealth buff if used effectively, since you can now use it to build ultra while doing teleport shenanigans.

She's also benefitted hugely from W-ultra and red focus. It feels like FSE's timer isn't that much shorter with W-ultra and red focus makes comboing into her U2 WAAAYYYYYYYYY easier. And here I was thinking I'd be dropping her. How silly of me.
