J-Stars Victory Vs lets up to four players battle it out against one another in a gameplay and graphical style similar to those of Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle Royale. ​

Fighters can move and fight in all directions of a 3D battle field. Players should learn the lay of the land and formulate a battle plan with a character suited to it.​

A defeated character comes back after a set amount of time passes. To win the battle, all three sections of the WIN gauge at the top of the screen have to be filled; the gauge fills one section each time an opponent is defeated. ​

Fighters can use regular attacks, power attacks, area-based attacks, and finishing moves. Regular attacks are the main part of the battle, and all combos begin with them.

Power attacks leave the user open, but they have a big impact if they connect and their power can be increased by charging them up.​

Area-based attacks allow to hit opponents over a wide area. By using different techniques, the player can lead his team to victory; learning each character's different power, range, and effects is the first step towards being unbeatable.​

Hope thats not all the character reveals. Game has way too much potential for the characters they can add. Also want to see at least one stage themed for each playable character respective anime too.

Gonna want to play so far based on reveal...

Gintoki (practicing the Kamahameha wave paid off in the end and lol using Thigh Burst on Goku)

Yusuke Urameshi (Spirit Gun all day)

Kenshin Himura (One of my top favorite sword anime characters)

Goku (Everyone is gonna use him at least once)

Ichigo Kurosaki (Most preferred "Big 3" Protagonist character)

New characters have been announced. Jaguar Junichi, from Pyu to Fuku! will appear as a support-exclusive character. And Taro Yamada, from Chinyuki: Taro to Yukaina Nakama Tachi, will appear as playable. The preview image is updated on the post.​

I don't really care if the series arent all that popular, but I won't import the game If Kumagawa doesn't appear.

Nah. It was made to honor the 45th year of Weekly Shounen Jump.

I hope it gets the deck system from Jump Ultimate Stars, that was bad ass.
Also the character diversity. There were so many characters you wouldn't expect... Just the fact that series like bobobo and yugioh could get playable characters was awesome.
 
I hope this game gets a US release because it has characters in it I really like (Kenshin, Yusuke, etc.)
I need me some Shaman King characters though. SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

I pretty highly doubt a US release. I guess it's not entirely out of the question, but it's still pretty unlikely all things considered. Although if the last shonen jump games are anything to go by, there will be Shaman King.

I wanna see a character from Prince of Tennis, Slam Dunk, Kuroko's Basketball, and Eyeshield 21 as support characters. Gotta give support to some of the sports series in Shounen Jump.

I agree with everything but prince of tennis. The main character in that is too much of a gary stu.

Hanamichi Sakuragi would do great in a fighting game though.

The eyeshield 21 protagonist was actually the second best support character in Jump Ultimate Stars.
A lot of people banned him.

The thing that made him gamebreaking was the movement sealing.
There were many status effects, and many could be blocked with certain help komas.
What were there absolutely none of?
Komas that blocked movement sealing.

He was also super fast, so it was easy to catch people off-guard. And he sucked 2 meters out of your opponent on top of that.
The big 3 in that game were so ridiculous though. When we played with big 3 unbanned, that was basically all you spent your meter on. Trunks was the worst one IMO.

Senna wasnt really focused as a tackling football player. he was the guy who ran with the ball and sometimes would act as a receiver.
 
Sena was also a QB for a time when he had to be a replacement QB and he is not much of a tackler due to his weak arm strength, but he is adept at stiff-arming so he can get physical to resist tackles that he can't avoid.

Well since this game confirmed support characters I hope he comes back.
 
just get me Seiya, Medaka and Kazuki that's all... Gintoki and Kenshin are confirmed already, that's enough for an import in my book, and well, Seiya too since Gintoki does the Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken stance in the trailer... Medaka has quite a chance to fit in, she can fight, this game need girls and her rival could be Kumagawa(that would be awesome) as for Kazuki, well, I'd rather have Tokiko or Chouno tbh, but hurray main characters
 
Now characters from Medaka Box join the fray with Medaka Kurokam as a playable character and Misogi Kumagawa as a support character.

Okay, so one of my choices made it in and it's about time we got a female rep. Also, judging by that scan it seems Medaka is using her 'The End' Abnormality.

Also, two new stages have been confirmed. The Chunin Exam Stadium (Naruto) and the Juppongatana HQ Rooftop (Rurouni Kenshin).

Shishio Makoto or Hajime Saito should make it in.
 
was Binbougami Ga! a Shonen property? it was in Jump Square, not Shonen Jump, but are they considered the same thing?

if they are, really hoping for Ichiko and/or Momiji for this

It's only characters from Weekly Shounen Jump series.

Needs some JoJo's Bizarre Adventure love, methinks.

I'd really like for them to show off Jotaro in one of these trailers and you'll think that he's on the roster, but then when the game ships.... instead you get me, DIO!!
