Eliza A Song of Blood and Beauty - Eliza Lore & Speculation

It's okay, we got the most boring one in TvC.

rip yurika ;_;

When the Eliza frame pack is released, I'm expecting someone to make a animation of Fortune running and Eliza flying after her.

Shoul put Bela and Perventine, there too. They all want that body.

Really misfortunate. :PUN:

In some interesting news, check out the fleshy bits here.
This basically confirms, along with Alex's previous mention of Samson having 'muscles underneath his hair' that parasites do actually have some kind of anatomy and aren't just supernatural bollacks.

Half-hoping half-predicting Eliza's story mode will include a (possibly final) battle where the player controls a blood palette Eliza. Likely stage: blood version of Bath of Tefnut.

It sucks that we don't get to see these nice little details during their animations.
I'd like to see the nerve bundles in between Leviathan's vertebrae a bit more.

They learned their lesson with Painwheel.
I wonder if there was a Skullgirls anime with a decent enough budget, they would do that?

I /love/ rainbow mother's color. But how awesome would it have been to have rainbow blood like double's one? Like. It's all normal and pale on the outside, but then BAM RAINBOW.

Filia's the shoto, she gets to be the main character.
Though if there was a Skullgirls anime, I imagine it'd be a Each character has their own episodes thing, and everything kinda converges at the end.

would it really be an anime if it was made in america tho

I guess it would be like Avatar in that regard then, so I guess if you considered that an anime then yes, otherwise... no?

Basically, but I imagine as the amnesiac, she'd be a great exposition character so there would probs be a lot of episodes feat. her.

Avatar the last Airbender?

Yurika was my first pick when I bought Project Justice. How can anyone not like the girl who fights with a violin and has the most glorious drill braids in the combined histories of braids and drills?
Honestly, I liked all the new characters in PJ. Now that I think about it, I mostly picked them (Wild Daigo included) and Kyoko.

If there's ever a animated adaptation, the main character should be Big Band so we can have Rich Brown narrate the story in that classic noir detective lingo. Or drunk Parasoul cussing the heck out of everyone, riding her hog in the middle of traffic and flipping everyone off - "I'mma a princess! I can do whatever the *bleep* I want!!" *loud burp*

Yes, it wouldn't have to be in the format of "Team of heroes but it is always the protagonist who beats the arc boss (a common plague in shounen: One Piece, Fairy Tail, Naruto).

A fighting game recurring theme is that everybody has a chance to beat everybody. Also each member of the cast has a their own story and motivation, don't need to outshine anyone.

As for Filia, she has a potentially good role in presenting the universe for the viewer. As an amnesiac remembering things, she can reproduce the sense of wonder and amazement the audience has as we are introduced to the world.

As for Eliza (since this is her thread) someone mentioned that her story will reveal a lot of her world. As a character her role is keeper of secrets: When one of these get in, minds are blown.

The elusive Kimlinh making an appearance reminded me of a question I had:
What's the deal with Eliza and Fortune? It looks like she's gonna go cat-crazy and try to adopt her!
I wonder if there will be more there, I mean she actually has more lines for Fortune than she does for Cerebella (who I thought would be more prominent in her story mode)
Maybe that's what will make Eliza's story so great, she'll have major interaction with a lot of characters.

wait wat she has more lines for fortune--

About the discussion some pages ago, of what Eliza would do with Ms. Fortune...

Here are two of her in-battle quotes compiled in the wikia.

  • [Eliza and Sekhmet]: My pet! (Switching out with Ms. Fortune)
  • [Eliza]: Dangerous prey...! (vs Ms. Fortune)

http://skullgirls.wikia.com/wiki/Eliza/Quotes

Kinky as hell. And...

RUN, KITTY! RUN!

@@; Y'know, for the longest time, I was wondering how come Ms. Fortune was in the first 8 of Skullgirls, if those were selected for their story relevance. She just ends up doing her own thing in her story, instead of interacting much with Filia like in the concept art and her "Thought you... were different." quote with Squigly. Seeing that Fortune's story comes back in Big Band's and Eliza is technically from a "later arc", I'm suuuuper curious to see how important the Life Gem really is in the grand scheme of things.

But I'm clearly biased.

Who knows? It is already a very powerfull artifact by itself, granting regeneration powers that would make Wolverine and Deadpool jealous. Its only drawback if that is people know that you have it you will be hunted. I think that is why the mob boss didn't just swallow it. It is possible that people before Fortune did that and were just crushed, grinded, harvested to gem again.

Also, outside a body it can revert aging and heal wounds and diseases of any person the carrier wants to help. A miracle stone if you will.

I wonder... Could it cure a Skullgirl?

Sorry for the double post but Alex just posted his Sekhmet concepts on his Tumblr (including some cool unused ones):
AAAW this is sad, i wish they couldve had more money to have sekhmet do all of this cool skills, the scythe ones and the healing ones would be soo cool!

The Life Gem doesn't grant regeneration powers, all it does is keep the user alive and young.
Otherwise Fortune's wounds would have healed.

Maybe. I don't know. Until now we haven't got an user guide saying "It works like this...".

So far there is doubt if fortune is a true undead or some kind of modular regenerative feral.

You know, I will drop this.

I will only mantain that the Gem is super valuable. And reinforce Kimlihn's curiosity by asking, what is the Life Gem exactly?

It is not a living weapon, not a parasite, what it is?

I think it's just magic.
It's probably made from Theonite or some shit.

Same with the Staff of Ra, it's probably just an old magic...thing.

I noticed in the update that Eliza says "Lamia" when she switches out with Double!! A quote from Double also mentions Lamia; "Blessed are those who reveal Lamia!" Weird huh? ;)

Wasn't Lamia,
the name of the nun
that Double's nun form is based on?

I feel like I've heard that somewhere, but I can't remember where.

Yep! Considering that Double is like a voice for the Trinity, that's saying something.

Big band part is already covered.
"You will be prosecuted to the full extent of the bazinga."

The text in this model sheet seems to imply "Lamia" is Mother's name. Makes sense given how motherhood was a crucial element in the story of the mythological Lamia.
index.php

Fun fact: Lamia was the queen of Libya who became a child-eating daemon. Her name derived from the Greek word "laimos" (gullet). Considering Double's ending...
Funner fact: cursed by Hera to be unable to sleep and Zeus granted her the ability to remove her own eyes in order to rest.

Eliza might possibly know of Mother's existence as well as be aware that Double's current guise is in her image.

Lavender Town Music Plays quietly in the background
I was surprised at how easily Marie had been defeated. After all, I had heard on the internet that she was supposed to be very hard. But then, I heard a laugh, not unlike Kefka's from Final Fantasy 6 (a classic RPG I would recommend). To my shock, the was no cutscene after the battle. In fact it seemed to start loading a new battle right afterwards. Filia's loading portrait appeared again, but this time there was a large red line going across her neck, as if it were beheading her. I felt disgusted by that line and everything it represented. When Filia's portrait disappeared however, I saw the scariest thing of my life. It was Eliza's loading portrait, but instead of the outline being white, it was a pure demonic red. Her eyes were not in their usual position, no. In fact they were staring straight at me, straight into my soul. I heard her whisper. "Come join me Jack. Your soul is mine." It was not her normal voice. It sounded like her, but the voice was twisted, as if there were tw people talking at once. And I don't mean it was her talking at the same time as Sekhmet, her parasite. No, it sounded much sinister. That's when I noticed that Eliza outline was not simply red. It was actually hyper realistic blood! I should've noticed it earlier. Was it the same for the line across Filia's neck? Had something terrible happened to her while the game was loading? My stomach started churning, I could not bear this any longer. I truly thought long and hard about shutting off the game right there and then but my curiosity got the better of me. I let it continue, my hands shaking on my arcade stick.

The loading finished and the stage appeared before me. I recognized it immediatly. It was the Bath of Tefnut, the stage usually associated with Eliza, but instead of the clear blue water, the pool was filled with more hyper realistic blood!

Lamia is just EX Fukua Shadow
