Double Some questions + Double solo/paired with Valentine

So I've been trying to learn Double's BnB on the universal BnB thread, and at one point during the combo it says that it does a j.Hk xx M item crash and I cannot for the life of me do that even if I get the inputs perfectly... I may not understand how I'm supposed to be canceling the j.Hk, I would really like some help learning this combo, because I'm super confused. I've been trying to get that single part down for at least 2 hours.

As for my other question, is solo double viable or is it better to pair with someone and if paired is Valentine reasonable? I really like this combo but I would like to be able to play Double solo. I just noticed that her BnBs are kind of short so a pairing would make it a little easier to continue the combos.. at least that's how I see it I could totally be wrong. Am I reasonable to be assuming this or is there something that I don't know?

Edit: as for the BnB combo I feel like I'm usually way to close to the ground so i really don't know what I'm doing wrong

To really understand the BnB, is to know that you can cancel the j.HK right after with a special move. You should be able to do it with ease except the j.HK xx Barrel to c.LK link. Jusst practice it with the s.LP or s.MK 1st.

As of Solo Double. Doubl by herself is a trash character. And her being paired with Val, She'll mainly just be helping her with M Bomber. Solo Val is also bad.

Good to know on both of those, so who would be good to pair with Double if I can. Would something like Eliza work better with a side double?
 
Uh, Something like a lockdown assist that can give her more pressure and a safe blockstring. Something Bella's Cerecopter or Fukua's H Drill.
 
Hmm, so double seems super situational. May not even be worth learning her then, am I correct?
 
Unless you want to learn her. Bomber is getting nerfed so she's losing some value as an assist character. You can play her if you want to.
 
Well the characters I have the most fun with are Double Valentine and Eliza so I may just end up learning Eliza instead since I can play her as more of a solo character with an assisting filia/fukua
 
I cancel j.hk's the instant they hit. Never had any trouble this way. I think that once you've found your timing on it, you won't miss it again.

If you mean the s.lk or c.lk connection after the opponent is about to land again; I've struggled with this for some time too. I taught myself two ways to do it (besides having a more consistent timing after some practice of course):
1. The easy way is to replace this part of the combo with a Luger: Starter into launcher - H.Luger - dash forward and OTG - continue the combo from there.
2. Another way is to watch for the bird to drop RIGHT ONTO the opponent. The moment Avery touches their heads, is the moment you gotta press the LK button.

Solo Doubles are rare and kinda weak. Point Double is not really preferred either. Double is a great assist character, though. You will mostly see people running her as the anchor with a M.Bomber assist. Don't get me wrong, you CAN play solo Double if you want; it's just that it's somewhat harder to manage. Double benefits the best from Anti-Air or lockdown assists when you play her in a team.
I don't see why Val/Doub wouldn't work, actually! Give it a try and see for yourself if you like it or not, I guess. Some people told me Double is the 'glue' to all sort of teams. She fits in almost everywhere. I don't know much about Valentine, sorry. Her assist is something like c.mk, maybe.

Well I got in touch with a couple of people last night after I had posted this and I was told Val/Double is pretty good. I ended up wanting to go main Eliza/Valentine after all of that when people were explaining the games mechanics to me a little more (Thanks CyberSaiko1 :D) and now I can do the combo a little easier, found out that I just wasn't letting a lot of the hits come through so the j.hk xx M item drop didn't quite feel right since I was super low to the ground, I appreciate the help though!

Oh, if you're going to play eliza and valentine together, I think Val/Eliz would fit better.
 
Double plays a better supporting role than she does as a point character. Reason for this is Hornet Bomber is a pretty dang good assist and you can DHC into catheads super if you're previous character's super was blocked or missed.

Val is also arguably one of the better point characters in the game with good assists backing her up.

Good to note, say I wanted to have Eliza as my point then who would be recommended for assist? Maybe a bomber bella? or even a bomber double since that was my original reason for this post? :P
 
Bella doesn't have the bomber move/assist, only Double does.
