Not disagreeing, but I'd point out that those events leave a pretty big gap from the start of December to the end of May (~5 months).

Yeah, it's better to think of Evo as a regional West Coast tournament than something worth going to for everybody. I think we're at the point where we don't need to prioritize events that force us to be self-run side tournaments even after Combo Breaker happened. If you want to go to Vegas, then it's a good excuse, but we otherwise have a good time there in spite of the event.I am not interested in making EVO a premier tournament for SG. I would rather SG-exclusive players saved their money for CEOtaku or another event later in the year. Like kenin has said, EVO is worth it if you play literally any main game but if you're an SG player then it's just alright. There are better tournament experiences.
Game Underground Tournament Spectacular 4 is supposed to be in January, from what rumors I've heard. Not disagreeing, but I'd point out that those events leave a pretty big gap from the start of December to the end of May (~5 months).
@Kai I'll keep an eye on the thread for a few more days before I add FF to give everyone a chance to weigh in if they want to. Also worldjem isn't responsible for the list on the index.
It is so sad how much I agree with this.
At the risk of sounding rude, that's because the ones still hanging around are the ones that actually play the game. The skullfan population has certainly dropped.
Man Skullfans Sounds like such a derogatory word.
Got it.
To be honest I feel like every Local Scene that can grab players is already doing a really good job. Florida, SoCal, PNW, NorCal, KC, Chicago / Midwest, and Tristate all have very active scenes with regular events that seem to be growing on a somewhat steady basis. The problem is that there are lots of areas where players are stranded with just about no local players (see: most of the scene in the south)
Tristate - Inflict/Cloudfests

You got your money from them, right?
I did yeah. So that's one point in TFC's favor, they will pay you the amount they say they will, eventually
Not me! I'm here to stay.
There is basically no motivating factor whatsoever to attend Final Round, and I say that as somebody who lives 1 state away from it.@Vadsamoht Could you add this tournament to front page please? Definitely can be big for tristate/EC SG players.
Only issue is how close it is to Final Round, which may or may not actually incorporate SG this year according to Big E, but it's still worth considering this.
Making the thread asap
Why?
It's a Big E tournament, the community-run tournaments at FR have been historically awful, if I go to anything in March it'd be Do or Di, March might not even be a tourney month for me, and seriously it's a Big E major where we don't even probably have side tournament status at currently.
