[Jan 27, 2017] Frosty Faustings IX (Elmhurst, IL)

Oof, that's not good. You're right that it's kinda late in the game, but let me see what I can do.

I really encourage you to reconsider, nonetheless. I've always personally felt better after soldiering through when things are tough. Maybe play a side team. Just come take part with us, if you can.
Yeah sorry I would have said something earlier but wasn't until this week that things started to go completely to shit.

I'm always late with these

I had a great time here! I got my first Top 8 here in Persona and learned a bunch from every game I entered and every person I met!

@Dhoppler thanks for being a cool dude despite you running Hel(L) George assist
@Drills thanks for being the Squigliza GOD
@Kai thanks for running my SG bracket with patience and coolness even though I kept having to run back and forth to Uniel and back to SG lol
@Sunset Radiance thanks for the FANTASTIC AND HILARIOUS sets we ran your gameplay over all this time is getting too lit and I can't wait to see how it continues to improve
@AlcoholicRobot thanks for braving the horrors of hotel finances with me

And thank you to everyone I missed cause I know I missed some people. I'll give ya a big ol hug at Combo Breaker. See you guys there!

Yeah this tournament was pretty awesome. I got to say that it really outshined everyone's expectations and blew us all out of the water. Well run, lots of space, lots of setups, and quite comfortable. Also Lou Malnatti's was in delivery distance.

Shoutouts to everyone I hung out with and played games with. What a hoot

Most things went pretty well, and some other things went great. Ran a little behind on the brackets due to some players in other games, but everybody seemed pretty happy with how it ran, and I got a bunch of positive feedback about our top 8 stream, in no small part to great casting by the MeleeEveryday crew, and great commentary help by @mcpeanuts. Overall, this was our best Frosty yet, and I'm truly thrilled that we've somehow manged to keep growing, year after year, despite everything. We really solidified our good relationship with the organizers, and we even manged to get some lapsed Chicago players to come back into the fold :)

I had a great time with nearly everyone, so I'll spare you the individual shout outs. I do want to thank Marcos (catkiller) and LaDontae (greedychun) for helping me run the brackets, along with additional help from peanuts.

I've been meaning to post after getting home, but I got sick again and haven't gotten around to it.

It was a great time. I'm happy to see you guys, like always.

Congratulations to @Elda Taluda for your engagement. I wish you the best. You've always been a big motivator to me and now you've rekindled that by knocking me out of the tournament.

Shout outs to @Duckator for the Garou matches. That game is always fun times.

@Sunset Radiance I see you leveling up. Keep at it and maybe I'll be the Midboss next time.

@Kai grown ass man with grown ass bear hugs. Well you didn't crush me this time.

@Psychopath I never knew that was you with the shoe box, but more importantly...Peacock mirrors!!!!! They're actually a lot of fun as you get better at them. I'm sure @mcpeanuts totally believes this.

(does Fat Man not have a tag on here?) Oh well. You really stressed me putting me in loser's first round. We still boys tho. Even if you and your girl say you hate me.

@Adeveis it was fun hanging with you and the squad. Please stop breaking @FuLLBLeeD every winner's finals. He's not gonna be able to come home if you keep doing this to him.

@Clawsome Bombs please come to accept George. He loves you. Like the rest of us.

Royal Hearts: You've really only been at this for 4 months? Keep it up man.

Greedy Chun, the rest: It was great seeing y'all again. Rolling with y'all is always fun.

I'm gonna get back to resting up. Hopefully I'll see some of you at NWM. I plan to make it there next.

I enjoyed myself there. However, I was a bit disappointed at how crowded the venue was. It was hard to find an open seat to play games. I did like how "genuine" the place felt though, with all the random game setups and minimal advertising.

I found it really cool that I finally met some of you.

@Drills seemed like a pretty cool guy. Too bad about our play session being cut short by the shitty PS4 timeout.

@Clawsome Bombs should feel proud for placing so high in Persona.

@Elda Taluda is way too humble in how good he is at this game. Duder beat everyone but Dekillsage handedly. And even then he managed to take at least a game off of Sage. Also congrats on the engagement.

@TheCrankMachine it was so great seeing you again. Really wish you were still in the Chicago scene. Maybe when you are in the area you can come to Undizzy sometime?

@Sunset Radiance FINALLY I was able to meet you. I have no idea why you are so worried. Literally everyone loves you.

I'm also feeling like I am really improving. I actually won two matches, and didn't get 2-0'd, including against The Crank Machine, never thought I'd get the chance, and Gengar (who people were very surprised).

...I'm still pissed I didn't get that fightstick I won.
