It would be great if Ajna makes it to Skullgirls as a 5th DLC character, but since 505 Games has no interest in hiring Future Club or Hidden Variable, it is no longer the case and I am disappointed.
Hey, thanks for your response. My only reason for a crowdfunding campaign was to generate enough money so that they would want to. I’m sure games are made first because people love to make them. However, they also want to make money doing it. If this is the case, I would be disappointed. Maybe someone at 505 Games etc reads this and might want to take a poll. There is money to be made here and a ton of fans.

Thank you,

Mfinite

Let’s start a social media campaign then if interested. Are you able to assist with that? If not, that’s cool too. :)
I think it should start from afar. Hashtags, fan material (arts, fiction, video edits and so on), cosplay. If there would be enough participation from the fan base, then it might be making sense to ask for Ajna as a guest character.
We need something similar for Stanley and Adam, please.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. This is also replying to @Holy Goose . That’s why I asked for someone with experience. Plus, I’m not making myself liable for other peoples money. That’s why I might have been hoping that someone from Hidden Variable or one of the companies jump in. That’s all I am doing. If you noticed, I didn’t make one. However, I know how to. There have been several places on the web and I’ve posted a few here where people were really hyped about it. The Indivisible Reddit for starters. I posted that here. Let’s start a social media campaign then if interested. Are you able to assist with that? If not, that’s cool too. :)

Hi. Just to answer your question first, like I said I'm not really a fan of guest characters in Skullgirls, so I don't really have interest to help personally, but I am very supportive of fan campaigns and it makes me happy to see passionate people pushing for changes in a constructive manner even if it's one I'm not 100% on board with, so good luck with that! :p

Anyway I apologise if my post came off as more aggressive than I intended it to be, but in the fighting game community (and just gaming in general), there has been a lot of poorly thought-out fundraising campaigns, which tend to end up with a lot of people losing money and the organisers losing their reputation and potentially getting in legal troubles, so I just wanted to be clear and nipped this idea in the bud.

Regarding a potential fundraising campaign, taking an example from the Indiegogo that funded the original batch of characters, the campaign itself was started by the dev team, who were willing and able to do the work and just needed the funding from the community to achieve it. Same thing with the campaign that (partly) funded Indivisible. So what I mean is, you don't really need to worry about fundraising campaign. If you can get enough people hyped, and it reaches the publisher or the devs' attention and they think it is a good idea, they will simply organise their own funding (whether it's internal funding or a crowdfunding). As outsiders we just need to concentrate on building the hype.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. The reason why there is a zero percent chance of Ajna making her debut to Skullgirls now is because not only Lab Zero Games went defunct. It's also because 505 isn't hiring Future Club. It's because of Mike's actions that halted on an indie gem that took blood, sweat and tears during development.

Just out of curiosity, why 505 Games isn't hiring Future Club anyway?

Because they pulled the plug on "Indivisible". No more content for the game, and no more support too.

No worries. ;) I appreciate the advice. I’m personally not a fan of guest characters either. However, this was one I was hyped for. If it happens great! If not, I’d be disappointed but ok with it.

Hi, you were clear. Hopefully some millionaire can just buy the ip and donate it to Future Club. We still have some awesome DLC to look forward to if Ajna doesn’t become a guest character. I’m glad Skullgirls has new life in it anyway. ✌✌️

I still hope fans can hype Ajna up, so 505 could have a change of heart.
Maybe there would be even some fan animations of her as a fighting game character. I remember someone did something similar with Stanley and his proposed playstyle.
It doesn't always work, but the fans at least should give it a try.

That makes sense. Realizing that 505 pulled the plug on Indivisible saddens me. All of their effort that took blood, sweat and tears to put Annie, Shantae and the other guest characters and the remaining unreleased Incarnations have all been kaput, down the drain. On the upside, Skullgirls gets to stay alive. I even brought the Season 1 Pass on day one the moment it gets available on PS4 so I can try Annie, Umbrella and the rest of the TBA characters.

Just to expand on Holy Goose's answer, word on the street is that the game underperformed 505 Games' expectations so it seemed liked they just used the collapse of Lab Zero as an opportunity to pull the plug on the whole thing. It is pretty sad but maybe with enough fan support they might be convinced to change their minds or at least explore alternative options to continue the game/the franchise, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.

The difference in Indiv's situation and Skullgirls' situation is that 505 is a massive publisher with hundreds of IPs under their belt, while Autumn basically is a single-IP publisher with only Skullgirls to make them money, so it makes sense that Autumn would do everything to keep Skullgirls alive while 505 probably doesn't care much if one of their IPs doesn't take off.

Now this one actually makes more sense. I am personally glad that Skullgirls stays alive regardless of Mike Z's actions that destroyed Lab Zero Games. All of their hard work that took blood, sweat and tears on the guest characters have been kaput because Mike Z is a piece of crap to just darn near destroy all of their hard work! It's a good thing I didn't back Indivisible or I would've been robbed. Seeing that Autumn owning the IP and Hidden Variable being a 100% independent development studio from Lab Zero Games as a shield has given me the opportunity to listen to BBTAG music while playing Skullgirls as a cherry on top.

I just hope Mike Z doesn't have a future in the game industry ever. Not after for what he did to kaputify the guest characetrs and other extra content. I mean, all he had to do was admit he was wrong instead of putting other people's work in jeopardy and let the money backers spent on backing the game go to waste!

There's a multitude of reasons it won't happen:
- Legal issue with using the character for both mobile + pc release
- Wouldn't be able to sell different mobile versions of the character without working with 505 Games (see Dead by Daylight's licensed killer issues for example)
- Indivisible is no longer in development nor was it a popular game (meaning very little in terms of bringing in new players)
- Future Club would not own the IP towards Ajna meaning no merchandising
- We already have a plethora of DLC characters to choose from

Sorry, but it's just not a feasible requrest.

Well we can start with this Ajna Annie fan animation. I didn't draw or originally animate these. However, I combined each frame side by side to make a scene. It took a few hours.

Seeing Annie with Ajna, I am reminded how Annie was going to change to "Indivisible style" for the crossover
Conversely, Ajna would need to change to "Skullgirls style" to join the Skullgirls universe. That would be an interesting challenge you could commission Skullgirls fan artists to do.

Great! If any fan artists want to take this on, we'd love to see the results. Thanks for sharing :)

Ajna \ Umbrella fight animation I put together with test animation from other artists. Umbrella's Shin Kick Animation and Ajna standing on the edge. I thought Ajna's idle move could be used as Ajna moving out of the way of an attack. Maybe it could follow up with a counter axe hit, since it makes the opponent miss.

Rare Ajna attack, AoE scream (It happens in indivisible)

I think this would make a neat level 3 or 4 Blockbuster move for Ajna.

QUOTING THE LINK
"She says "Now you're gonna get it!", runs up, leans over and does what looks like a screaming animation. All enemy animations freeze for a second, then they all take damage at once and get popped up in the air."

That could be lead in for her to juggle the opponent because of the pop up.

I saw a stickman animation and I decided to customize some text for Ajna. The weapons looked like something she'd use in a combo with her rare attack line... "Now you're gonna get it!"

If you don't know the artist you probably shouldn't take their work without permission.
Hey buddy, It’s all over google if you search part of the title. It was originally about anime. I still couldn’t find the person to credit. I thought it looked cool and it reminded me of Ajna with the moves. I wanted to share that with everyone. So I changed the text in the animation so it made sense. The rest of the animation is the same. I also stated that above and I was not claiming it to be originally made by me. If the artist has an issue, I’ll delete the post. If someone has their name, I’ll put a link and a credit there. I was asking for that. Plus, I’ll reach out to the artist if necessary. Nothing was taken as I tried to make an effort to find the original artist to credit. More than most people try and do these days. Thanks for your advice, but I’m doing my best putting out stuff for social media, as requested in this thread . I’m not an animator, nor a social media expert. I’m just creating customized content with what's out there. I added the original animation to my previous post. I love both ip’s and enjoy both games still today. Have a great rest of your day/night. ✌️☮️

While your efforts are great, doing "customized content" of existing work is not something that is just freely allowed, and that's just inviting trouble if it ever lifts off.

You should probably only use your own produced content or finding people that are willing to do it.

I doubt Ajna will be joining the roster for Skullgirls, be it Season 1 or Season 2 and onwards unfortunately. It'll put a lot of bad faith into the game if she'll ever be added, which is very unlikely. Sorry.

Unlikely, maybe? However, it’s a possibility? Yes or no I’m still a fan. That’s it and sharing fan made / customized material. Thanks for your reply. As I said previously… Maybe a millionaire will buy the IP and donate it. Cheers! ☮️

Again, if anyone has an issue with any works that they own, I will delete the post and its content on the forum. I’ve tried to find people and I run into this. So I do what I can. That’s all. Let’s not keep the negativity going. I appreciate the advice. ☮️

On another note, I’m looking forward to the future DLC. Who do you think is after Umbrella?

Adam, of course.
Somebody should fetch her all these ice-cream.

Agree. I'm sure there's quite a number of people, who are willing to create and share content for this crossover. Just need to organise it all.

Since Parasoul is no longer alone as Umbrella has made her playable debut, I want Feng and Minette to be next in line so that Cerebella and Ms. Fortune will no longer be alone.

I just want to share on what Annie's Ajna palette will actually look like if it makes it into the game, even though Skullgirls is no longer under the Lab Zero Games umbrella. There might be still hope for this palette to be implemented.
