val w/ filia? any tips?

so thanks to some advice i got from another thread i created, i added val to my team as i used to solo filia before. i mainly use val as my first in front fighter with filia being my main. i just want some tips, combos, etc. that go along with this match up.

Any cross under + updo is really really good. Also updo as a plain old assist is really nice.
