amiibo!

I planned to buy a Lucina Amiibo at London Comic-con but they were only sold in collaboration with Code Name Steam. Whilst I understand Nintendo (and the Nintendo booth) are pushing for Code Name Steam, especially with Amiibos, I don't want the game.
 
That's a load of bull that stunt right there.

Honestly asking, do you think they KNEW what was in the truck or it was a target of opportunity?
 
The same thing was happening with Pokemon card shipments back at the peak of their craze so I wouldn't be surprised if this was targeting Amiibo. It could still be a coincidence though.
 
I am going to the mall on Friday to find a present for a wedding. I'm legitimately wondering how big the line up will be for the GameStop will be there for amiibos/Splatoon.

I'm just laughing at the thought of getting an Amiibo for a Wedding Gift.

I made a friend of mine happy on memorial day in that I made it to his Hockey Game (He played Goalie for Army and they won the Tournament 5-0, undefeated) Passing him the Super Fighiting Robot Amiibo I had picked up for him a few weeks back was icing on the cake.

Now I just need to pass the spare Sonic I picked up onto another friend when I see him at Project A-kon (he has 0 Sonics in his section of Texas) and surprize my girlfriend the same day with the Mega man and Meta Knight (her main) I am holding for her and I will be up to date on Amiibos I am holding for friends.

You can sell this thing to pay for your future child's university tuition!

Sadly I am not buying an amiibo for her wedding present even though I am curious on her reaction now if I did.

Dang it. Only managed to get 2 of the 3 on my short trip today. Will be heading oit again for a second shot at aquids ;_;
 
I was at my closest Wal-Mart about 10:30 CST. Spoke with a woman waiting that they had for sure Charizards in and the Night shift manager had hidden the only box with all 4 in the Manager office.

Manager is unable to find them nor any of the other Spaltoon/Wave 4 Amiibos.

However a few minutes before midnight while she is looking for the Splatoon games, we hear over the radio of the Wal-mart worker (who did not know the amiibos were coming and was planning to head to Target tonight to try for a Jigglypuff now that he knew) that she found the Splatoon games. One Minute later she reports the 4 Charizards are found.

I walked away with the second one, hunting after work tomorrow will be anooying but here is hoping for any of the remaining ones I am after.


Also apparently the OTHER wal-mart in town will not be getting their Wave 4 & Splatoon Amiibos until MONDAY. WHat the hell Wally world?!?!
 
I was surprised to see only about 10 people in line this morning at the mall's Game Stop I went to. I was expecting WAY more based on how popular these things are.

My hunt was a rousing success. Got the ninja frog and the pizza-missing-a-slice man.

Semi Successful. Wario and Splatoon 3 Pack secured to go with the Charizard. Running a small hope on Robin/Lucina/Greninja...will report later.


Edit: Still running the small hope, received the Ness & pac-Man in the mail, and no one has commented on the Chibi Robo Amiibo coming in the bundle with the new game?

I've been meaning to talk about amiibo stuff, here. I've got a pretty solid collection, consisting of King Dedede, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Kirby, Link, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl, Inkling Squid, and Silver Mario. I was extremely glad I was able to get the silver mario and splatoon amiibos on the 29th. It definitely means a lot of amiibo skins for Yoshi's Wooly World. And hopefully, later on, I'll be able to get a Chibi-Robo amiibo.

The amiibo quality is getting better, even though it was great already
Ganondorf looks kinda crappy, I had high hopes for him
 
I think Dorf looks AMAZING.

Palutena looks a little drunk to be honest.

Oh wait, you're right. Forgot America is splitting Wave 5 up. DP and Palutena come out in July, ZSS and Ganon come out in September
 
I just stopped at a GameStop on my way to work and saw two Silver Marios, so I decided to grab it. It may not be that fancy gold one, but silver isn't bad looking.

Also picked up a Mega Man and Toad amiibo a few nights ago. I could've had Mega Man at least a month ago but held back on it. When I was finally ready to grab it last week, it was gone. Walked in to the same store a few days later and it's there again.

Finally, why did it take me this long to find a Toad? The Mario Party amiibo have been out since, what, March? Does Toad do anything special?
 
Toad works for MP10, Yoshi, Hyrule Warriors and Captain Toad, so it's pretty versatile for not being a Smash Bros. character
 
Figured it would for those first three, didn't know it did something for Captain Toad. Well, my sister did get it for her birthday, I guess now I have a reason to stop playing Splatoon and try it out
 
Quick question, are amiibos so valuable to the point where it's understandable why a person would steal an armored truck full of amiibos?

Because if not then WHAT THE FUCK!?
 
The same was done back in the heights of the Pokémon TCG craze so sadly no suprize.

Robin & Shilk acquired within this past week for my collection and I might be getting a Greninja this week as well.

You can now import Wave 5a/b (whatever Dark Pit/Palutena/Ganondorf/ZSS is suppose to be in) but it's like $30.00 plus shipping for them. I think my total with Play Asia came out to over $100.00 for only TWO of the amiibos (I'm in Canada which drives the cost to $40.00 for them plus the shipping charge). My Dark Pit pre-order import from the UK cost way less (I think it was only $20.00 after shipping) so beware if you are considering importing from Japan or at least with Play Asia. Needless to say, I am going to wait for the two that I want to come out here.
 
I love Amiibo's but i really REALLY hope down the line they re-stock because even the pre-orders are sold out.

This is pretty much how I feel right now

I've just gotten to the point where all the amiibos I'll buy will be the japanese versions.
 
Falco, R.O.B., Duck Hunt Dog and the Choose your pose Game & Watch have been added to the already insane Wave 5 and the Mii Swordfighter, Mii Gunner & Mii Fighter will be after them with Lucas, Roy, Mewtwo and Ryu.

Who will join Dark Pit & Palutena next month and who will be in the clusterf' that will be the September drop?
