OK, so, I just got an update from Sony.

They looked into it and found that there were (for some reason) two paid versions of Skullgirls on PSN. When they initially compiled the list of people that should get vouchers, they only pulled the customers from one of those two versions.

They've now compiled the list of all the people that bought the other one, and those vouchers should broadcast tonight. Same thing as last night: upload around 9 PST, hopefully in your box within an hour or two after that.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience on this.

Tuesday, February 11th, 2014 marks the return of Skullgirls to the console world, and with that return also comes the most recent updates to the game. The extensive list of changes can be found here, but Skullheart user Jason has also put together a video of the most significant changes to help both the newcomers and the lapsed fans coming back into the fold:


So now I bet you're wondering how to get your updated copy! From the Playstation Blog a few days ago:
Anyone that purchased the original version of Skullgirls gets Encore for free, simply follow these steps:
  1. Check your PSN messages on your XMB.
  2. You’ll receive an XMB message from “Skullgirls” with a link to a free voucher for Skullgirls Encore.
  3. Click the link in the XMB message, which will redeem the voucher and take you to PlayStation Store to download Skullgirls Encore.
  4. Be sure to also download the Squigly Character Unlock and Character Color Bundle DLC — both are free for a limited time!
  5. After the download is complete, please delete the current version of Skullgirls, as it will no longer be supported.
  6. Enjoy!
Release of the EU PSN version of Skullgirls Encore is still up in the air, but Lab Zero CEO Peter Batholow has said he hopes to see it on the EU PSN store shortly. As for the XBLA side, Lab Zero has yet to submit the new version, so the wait could be a little while longer.

I'm also patiently waiting. the game is up on PSN for $15. any timeframe for the messages?
 
I hear some people already have their vouchers so it is probably just taking a while to distribute them all.

Hahahaha don't worry about that. The account I used to buy the game starts with D and I'm still waiting.
 
Still no message for me. Just for clarification, XMB just means the message box right? I don't want to find out that I need to download a separate item to get the message.

XMB is the Playstation menu that comes up when you press the Home button.
 
Still waiting here. SO there some issues with the distrubiting? Cuz i asked 2 people and they said Nah we dint get nothing. And they have the game. So i dont know whats going on

Edit: Never mind Keninblack just bought for impatiant. And another friend of mine is playing the demo. So he says.

Ya know, now could be the best time to play the butt face card and say "I'm playing it now! On Steam!" but I like this forum, so I'll say I'm patiently waiting for the arrival, and I think I'll start playing some random PS3 game.

We just received word from Sony that the messages will arrive in people's inboxes sometime between 9pm and 10pm PST tonight. This is literally the first place I've told haha

Considering I can't really play until I get home around 9pm, I'm sorta ok with this.
 
Oh ok. There goes my plan to enjoy my day off playing Encore. At least its almost out though. SIGH.

Welp, so much for actually playing this tonight. Disappointing. Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow night.

Welp so i get Encore tomorrow. Horray for time zones. I get Encore 1 to 2 am. T_T
 
Listen up Skullgirls fans!

As a hint to you, in case you haven't done this yet, download the trial, Squigly, and the color packs. If you go ahead and do this, this will save time later on down the road today/this evening/tomorrow. From previous experience, I've downloaded Skullgirls the Demo back during Christmas of 2012, and then bought Skullgirls the Game during like February. I had to download a very small file, and I could play Skullgirls the Game.

As for why I'm typing Skullgirls the Demo or Skullgirls the Game, I've watched Spaceballs the Movie recently.

Currently waiting for the Demo to download. Great mind think alike I see because I had the same idea. Whether I have to wait a few hours more to play a gane ive been waiting for is of no consequence as long as we do get it.
 
And I for Skullgirls the Console.
