So as not to be outdone by some of the others in terms of the drink, I found another bottle of that margarita stuff we liked at WB, so I grabbed one of those. I'll probably bring my bottle of good tequila and a few shot glasses as well because this is a thing I want.
Will be up there in a couple hours. Bringing a big boy of Jack Daniels for those who like that sort of thing. Let us indulge!
I also heard they're running a 3rd strike "fresh blood" tourney type thing in the arcade room so I'm thinking about trying my luck there since I like the game but don't know any combos or anything. But I love to parry!
So I unfortunately won't be here for the SG finals, since my plane leaves at 8:35EST. I just wanted to go ahead and say that this tournament was probably one of the best I had ever been to, especially since this is my first time traveling out to the east coast by myself.
I also need to catch up on SG pools as I missed them after I had been knocked out. It was a combination of me feeling sick and bittersweet cause I was feeling very disconnected from the community after all the stuff I've pulled in the past few months, leaving a bad taste peoples mouth. Thankfully though, I talked to @render about my issues and he made me a lot more confident in just hanging out with the people who don't hate me. So I definitely need to catch up on those pool. At least I didn't go 0-2. 1-2 is pretty decent, though not the best I've done.
Too many names to remember, but I want to thank most of the community for welcoming me and hanging out with me, doing a lot of fun ass shit. I especially want to thank Joshb and Twerk for teaching me about Fukua and a lot of the stuff I didn't know about her, now I know and she's a lot more fun now.
Ggs to everyone that I did get to play and I hope I can improve for NEC so I'm not so free and boring to play.
The @SonicFox5000 vs Perfect Legend exhibition was totally worth the 260 dollar plane ticket here to Philly, it was absolutely fantastic. Good shit dude. Putting that fucking guy in his place.
I can't express my thanks for everyone that attended and hung out with me, even if you didn't know what I looked like. I hope to come back to Summer Jam next year.
For now, going to practice up as I definitely want to go to NEC later this year.
Once again, I had a blast and I hope the Skullgirls Community keeps going strong. Whether you hate me or not, I am just glad we all can come and help out the numbers for the game.
Coming out to these events make me realize there is more to life than just being miserable and working.
PS. Sorry for breathing on your arm @worldjem, that kinda embarrassed me XD
Also special shoutouts to @ElkyDori and KPB for helping out so much with this tourney, those guys deserve props. Same to @keninblack who ran pools 1-2.
For now, next stop Salty in October.
Edit: I also forgot to mention thanks to @Sarcasmic and @Rizil for being rad room mates :)
Had a super fun weekend, thanks to the whole SGC for making this tournament great as usual. I'm too lazy to give individual shoutouts to everyone but I have to give one to @Outlaw_Spike for bringing ridiculous amounts of expensive effervescent beverages and to @keninblack (and all the others who helped) for being TO when it was 20 minutes after pools started and we were all like "so where's our TO?"
See you guys at NEC!
edit: Oh and special shoutouts to all the people that I hadn't met or gotten to know until this weekend. The SGC just has so many cool, friendly people
Seriously? Good show, Pat! Congrats on placing while doing this, too. :^)
Yeah, I've usually ran the EC stuff so it wasn't too bad it was just a surprise this time. Since it was a main game they had apparently assigned staff to the 4 pools. So after it being 20 minutes past start time with no sign of ANYONE running SG I went over to Eric and he just handed me the brackets xD so yeah I had to run all 4 of the pools but all the people who helped definitely saved my ass while I had to go play like ASS in 3s.
