The thread about lobby chat got me thinking:

What if the background NPCs were controlled by the spectators? Say, like, 4 NPCs were given a few frames for emotes like get hype, embarrassed laughter, and shake my head. Then give the each spectator control over that NPC and let them, "shout," at the fighters at the end of the round via a speech bubble (70 char limit, allowing for short messages like, "nice comeback!" or, "dem resets :O").

I think the work that would need to go into this would probably make it a Skullgirls 2 feature, but still, no time time like the present to get that ball rolling.

An idea that's fun and any game that would add this would get my respect, but it would also mean they had WAY to much time on their hands. :P

My honest opinion seems like a rather fun idea...iono if it will get considered though, but it still does sound fun though.

That is actually a pretty neat idea. Closest thing to that I think was the DoA 4 online lobby avatars..

..which isn't really the same thing, but just as as a radical concept. The trick would be not make those background NPC too distracting, figure out the customization options, etc which is going to be extra work for Lab Zero when they still have a backlog of things to get done. Cool idea nevertheless.

At first I thought this was gonna be dumb but I really love this idea, this seems like one of those really neat ideas.

I would obviously though, give it an option to turn it off on someone's end of course.

Hmm, it seems like it would be a huge change to the game's net code, but it's a good idea. Don't know if it would be worth the trouble to implement though.

just like the pre-99 KOFs had your teammates cheering you or facepalming when you got hit, but with players doing it?

If it doesn't add any lag to the matches, i support it 100% and woud gladly give 20 more bucks to lab zero in order to get it

BUT i'd ask you guys to wait until robo-fortune is done before we ask it seriously... Lzero team have more work to do than they can deal with now

Obviously, this is a pretty big feature and it seems to be the type of thing you add on when you got all the serious work out of the way.

That'd be cool.

It's a cool idea, though how would it work on stages since they're bigger than one screensworth and you don't get all the npcs in the background since the characters can move from one part of the stage to the other.

As it has already been said, I would love that to be implemented, but I'm not sure online play could handle that much going on at once.

If the game could handle that kind of stuff, I am all for it. I'd be like the Animal Crossing characters in Smashville... but ME!!!

kinda like smashville in brawl?

Secret Moves:
D + K
= Stomp
U + P = Clap
QCB + P = Thunderstix
QCF + P = Start Wave/Continue Wave
QCF + K = Twerk, Combos into EX Twerk (QCF + KK)
Charge D>U + P = Take Shirt Off --> 360 + P = Spin it like a Helicopter
DP + Mash PPP/KKK = Vuvuzela

Hehe, but seriously, I like this idea! Let's just hope there's more Skullgirls to come after Robo-Fortune.

You know what? Forget cheering the fighters on; let's just have the NPCs fight each other during the main fight!

This way, no one will ever be bored while waiting for fights!

Cowboy Kid vs. Dog Guy in Sweater!
Giraffe Man vs. Swordfish Man!
Kung-Fu Sandbag vs. ...OTHER Swordfish Man!

I am joking, of course.

LP - shout at players
MP - throw rotten tomatoes
HP - break a combo
LK - lag switch
MK - the floor is lava
HK - disconnect the match

New tier listing,
S tier: audience
Crap tier: every one else

So does that mean even MOAR animating for the casino backer npcs?
Needs duckator npc yawning at your boring/cute combos.
