sorry i tried some thing and accidantally got rid of your thread @Genoisawesome

anyways it appears that up and down move one by one respectively and left and right do the opposite
 
Also, to avoid confusion, up goes to the next number, not down. I for some reason thought down would mean next whoops.
So...
Up = next replay in order
Down = previous replay in order
Right = up 25 replays
Left = down 25 replays

Correct?

EDIT: I dont have 25 replays but the directions are correct if that makes sense
 
I can also confirm inverted controls for selecting a replay.

Left/Right = increments of 25
Up/down = increments of 1

Yup, I have those fonts. I was going to try the Replay Theater again but now Skullgirls Beta crashes at startup.
I uploaded the replays here.

EDIT: I just deleted the Replays folder and Skullgirls Beta doesn't crash at startup anymore.
 
When the Beta loads up, it freezes, and it just stops responding. The retail version of Skullgirls works. I also already tried verifying the integrity, and uninstalling it. @Mike_Z

By chance did you rename a replay or something?
 
Delete the Replays folder (back it up if you want) and try again.

Nope, I didn't touch them. After playing I went straight to the Replays Theater and then the game crashed and kept crashing at startup until I deleted the replays.
 
My replays work, but they dont side switch the inputs so everything goes well until someone gets crossed up and then its completely random junk since even if it switched back somehow the inputs still wouldnt e synced.

I tried this on a couple of different replays with the same occurrences. So as of right now, replays are unwatchable for me.

Is there an easy fix?

Are these matches of you vs person, or you vs AI? (Does it even record replays vs AI?)

Recorded as a set against @ClarenceMage first game in queen of the hill lobby, the rest in all play lobby. 3 slots all private, 2 taken, 1 open. Cm on p1 side, me on p2 side
I immediately went to the replay data after we stopped playing because that was the reason for the games. I noticed that the replays werent functioning properly during playback and it seems that the controls are reversed for both sides. Clarence had the same replays and said that his were unaffected.

I also dont know how to do this. I will test these 2 out once i work things out on how to do them... Or someone tells me. But I'm leaving for the minesite for 3 weeks or so tomorrow. And wont have much or any time to test things out once I'm gone, until i get back home around the 2nd, if everything works out and i get some more time off.

So time is of the essence so to speak.
You play a lot of SP, right? Maybe that breaks something. Do replays play back properly if you just play them right after starting the game?


Just tried this and it doesnt seem to have any affect.
 
I cant seem to copy the replay info to here... Dont know if thats supposed to be possible or not. But i can copy the files, but i cant paste them here in this post. I can take a poverty cam recording of one of the recordings though and upload to youtube... I'll try that.
 
Just archive and upload them to some file hosting site.

Ok i think i have fixed the problem. I noticed that in my replays there was a 7 round designator which is strange because we were playing 3v3 in a lobby which has no round designator.

So i went back to settings and reset to default and the replay seems to work fine now.


So there seems to be a bug with the replays and round designation.

O HOHOHO. Yes, they do not record NumRounds and Time in the .ini, they definitely should do that! Good catch.
It's weird that that would screw with inputs but...well...there have been weirder bugs.

[edit] AH, it has to do with what intro it plays! The intro for round 1-2-3 is shorter, so it screws up the replay if that doesn't match. Time to fix it.

Oh ok cool, i thought there was some sort of time desync as well... But couldnt figure it out. The round start explains it perfectly. Glad to be of "some" help.
 
Wait, so that problem I had with the Beta.. It happens every time I get more replays, which is every versus match... So I have to delete the replays folder every time I start up the Beta. Is this going to be fixed, or would it be better to just have there be an option to not save replays?

It'll get fixed, the whole point of putting them in the Beta is to find problems. So, help me out.
What's your MyDocs path? What kind of output do you get with -log when it crashes, anything useful? Etc.

It seems like the reason is that in the replay Fortunes head gets hit out of its cat spike trajectory by napalm shot at about 94 seconds round time, whereas in the actual recording the shot goes past it.

This was recorded before todays patch, so maybe that is the reason?

Yep, Spike got fixed so she can't miss, which means the head moves around with her a little bit more before she hits it, so the replay's no longer valid.

Got this as well.

Also, the buttons seem to be reversed as well. LK quits and MK plays the replay.
 
I'm not up to date with the known replay bugs but... I gave it a try today on a series with @Dreamepitaph and turns out that out of 25 matches recorded, 10 of them desynced at some point.

Were they recorded from a previous Beta version? Like with a different Filia j.HK? I notice there are some Filias in the desynced ones.
Replays are just inputs, if the game changes such that those inputs will do different things then the replay will no longer work correctly.

?

My matches vs TJ desync whenever he calls his peacock assist. It's supposed to be like lk soid or something but in the replay it has peacock do the one that takes forever instead.

@Mike_Z I can't notice a pattern. I would upload another batch for you already... but the moment I'm about to do so there's a new patch so yeah...

I'm still having broken replays, though. The broken/working ratio is like a constant 1/3. Most of the broken replays already start fucked up in the very first seconds. There's a few ones that get broken in the middle or far into the match, but I couldn't find the specific moment that it happens.

I'm starting to believe this might be a problem internally on my pc or something. The people I play with still get one or two broken ones, but not as much as I do. Is there any information about my system I could give you so that's out of the way?

When this message appears, it only does before the match begins. Here's a recent recording of it - I've seen it happening during a match though, but it's really REALLY rare, and I know it means the connection between the players is garbage. I wouldn't post up a replay when something like that is happening.

And by the way, I must say I'm not sure whether I'm still having problems with the replays or not. The last 20 or so ones I've randomly checked worked flawlessly.

This sunday's tournament will be played on beta again, so I'll use that as a test field and link you the replays just like I did before.

Okay, please do. The one at the beginning of the match MIGHT have an impact on replays. The one in the middle of the match actually shouldn't break anything. :^)
